                                  Summer At Last!

After escaping the horrible British summer, rain, rain and more rain, we made it to the beautiful Villa Barros. The villa was everything we expected and more. Spacious, especially if you bag the top bedroom with two balconies, but every room has a terrace and some nice nooks and crannies to escape with a good book. The wendy house was a hit with my 2 year old and he spent most of the day in there, handy when the sun was so hot. The indian restaurant at the top of the road is first class, non greasy and loads of choice! Beautiful beaches within 15 minute walk with beach bars and lovely soft sand! What more could you ask for. Many Thanks for an excellent holiday! C & Family

A beautiful villa and very good management service

                                  5 of 5
We were 7 adults, one toddler and two 8 month old babies. The layout worked out quite well although a separate downstairs toilet would have been a bonus. The management staff went the extra mile to find out if there was a blender in the kitchen for us and also acted promptly when we queried the heating in the swimming pool. The bathrooms have all been upgraded since the photos were taken and were all lovely but there is now only one bath in the downstairs double bedroom - useful to know this if you have babies who need a bath. The beds were all quite firm, plentiful linen and towels were available including towels for the loungers outside. Plenty of equipment, crockery and cutlery in the kitchen with a large fridge and another in the utility room. Take your own dishwasher tablets to save buying a large box, but there are good supermarkets nearby (Oceana cheaper than Apolina) and a massive one called Continente in the shopping mall area on the main road just above Guia - plus an Aldi but not as much choice there. There were lots of toys and inflatables for the pool in a shed outside which was extremely helpful and useful. The steps down to the pool were a bit of a pain at the end of the day when taking things up and down to the outside table and it really would be a lot more sociable if the bbq was moved a bit nearer to the table area. We had to pass things in and out of the kitchen window and with it being at the back of the house, whoever was cooking didn't get to join in the fun. We kept the shutters closed most of the time to keep the house cool - and safe - and unfortunately this made the house a little dingy. The maids came twice a week which was unexpected and welcome. It was a good half hour's walk to the beach - felt longer when it was hot - but there are beautiful beaches all round with excellent beach bars for lunch or an evening meal. Never had a bad meal in Portugal yet. There is a Tapas Bar close by which is excellent and others within easy walking distance. Scoobies Pool bar is walkable too and good for crazy golf and other activities for the kids for a change. They will also run you home in a minibus if the kids are a bit tired. The weather was very kind to us - in fact a little too hot at 33 degrees one day - but all in all an excellent holiday. I would recommend this area - beautiful beaches, quiet not commercialised but with villas like this, great for a family holiday.

Hello, what can I say this apartment was everything we could have wished for . Absolutely beautiful , immaculate and meticulously looked after. The pool area was very well looked after and plenty of lovely sunbeds. The beach was amazing and the local restaurants are first class. You will not find a better apartment in this area . We have visited this complex 4 times and this apartment was far the best . Thankyou to the owners. S. Clark
