Make holiday rental accommodation or self catering property in Poland your home away from home

Poland is a land of contrasts, marking the imaginary boundary between east and west. Whatever your tastes in holiday, from sun drenched beach holidays to cultural or sporting breaks, there is a holiday in Poland to suit. The hospitality is very warm, and travel cheap, yet the facilities and entertainment options are first class. There are remarkably few places where modern living and traditional cultures merge so effortlessly, and the combination is both fascinating and very comfortable to investigate. This is only a very rough guide to Poland, as there is simply too much on offer on a Polish holiday to mention in one sitting! However, one thing is for certain, if you take accommodation in Poland, you will be very tempted to return every year.

Things to do on holiday in Poland

There is always a huge amount of things to do in Poland, but what entertainment is available is dependant on the season. However, throughout the year, the natural beauty of the countryside and the wonderful architecture and atmosphere in the ancient cities of Poland endear tourists to Poland, and keep them returning to their Polish rental accommodation year after year. Tourism in Poland’s cities revolves around the countries rich cultural heritage, including famous operas, concerts and theatrical productions.

During the summer months, accommodation in Poland is most popular with those who love lazy days on the beach. The Baltic Sea is lined with fine sandy beaches which become very popular when the sun shines. As with the vast majority of Poland, the Baltic Coastline remains wonderfully unspoilt, yet you can find all the facilities and water sports options you could wish for along the coastal resorts like Gdansk, Slupsk and Koszalin. A tour of Poland’s Baltic coastline will also allow you to visit some of the finest health resorts in Europe.

The mountains of southern Poland are ideal for adventures of many sorts. Mountain biking has found a home in Poland’s Sudety Mountains, especially on the highest peak, Mount Sniezka. Horse riding holidays also thrive here, travelling on Poland’s native horse, the huculy. However, it is Poland’s hiking options which have caused the mountain accommodation of Poland to become some of the most popular places to stay in Europe. Nature lovers will be captivated by the stunning scenery, blanketed in indigenous flora and fauna in summer and a layer of thick, virgin snow in winter. The remote Bieszczadyare some of the most remote mountainous areas in Europe, and filled with magnificent animals, from wolves to brown bears. The Bieszczadzki National Park encompasses much of the area, protecting it for future generations to enjoy the magnificent hiking and horse riding in the park.

The lake country, in the centre of Poland, is the main sailing, kayaking and fishing locations, and from this vantage point, discovery of much of the rest of the country, and all it has to offer.

Places to travel in Poland

The southernmost region of Poland is home to the towering peaks of the Carpathian Mountains, which are filled with sporting options and captivating tales of folklore. Here, walking, cycling and horse riding holidays thrive, and where better to discover true rural Poland that in the mountains, living in the small communities and learning from their expertise and joining in with their delightful cultures for a few weeks?

Weather in Poland

Poland’s moderate climate is perfect for those who do not like it too hot. In summer, temperatures are blissfully warm, averaging around 20oC, although daily peaks do rise up to around 30oC on most days. If you take accommodation in Poland during the winter, be prepared for some cold weather. Average temperatures in the coastal regions are around 0oC, but in the mountains, temperatures can average as little as -7oC, so pack a good jumper!

Great location and everything needed was supplied. Milk, water, salt, washing up liquid appreciated.

5 of 5
Appartment furnished in traditional way but bathrooms and kitchens modern. Top floor not a problem for us. A little bit noisy early morning with trams but only 1 of our group affected as she lives in a very quiet location normally. Wouldn't be an issue for most. Krakow old town is not too big but location was fantastic. 5 minutes walk to main square. All night grocery and nice breakfast/ coffee shop across road. We did not see owner but she left great recommendations for restaurants etc and Paulina who picked us up at airport was delightful. She gave us lots of info and pointed out lots of points of interest. Would recommend taking the option for Paulina to meet you at airport. We ate out all the time as restaurants and bars were incredibly cheap. Meal and wine typically £10 or less. Loved the Polish food. We visit Auschwitz, harrowing but a must. I found the Salt mines overrated although my friends liked it. Walking tour of Jewish Quarter was fabulous. Lots of links to Schindlers List but the factory tour is just a recap of what we learned so wouldn't recommend both. Great location for history buffs but also lots of lovely buildings, churches etc and although we didn't go to any concerts due to time restrictions, there is loads for classical music lovers. Would thouroughly recommend Krakow and the apartment.

A SUPERB APARTMENT IN A GREAT LOCATION

5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay in Krakow. The apartment was clean, spacious and airy. There is a small brewery, with a restaurant, next to the apartment. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and beers. There is a really good, reasonably sized supermarket very close to the apartment, which was useful for buying water, beer, wine and fresh bread. We were spoilt for choice with restaurants in Krakow. All were very good but Starka was the best restaurant we ate at. It was full, on a Monday night, and they turned many people away - it is, therefore, essential to reserve a table. We went to the salt mines, which was a good half day trip and we visited Auschwitz where we felt humbled. Four nights wasn't quite enough time to see end experience everything Krakow has to offer.
