Make a Holiday Rental House in Tiznit, Morocco Your Home Away From Home

Nestled peacefully in the Tiznit Province, in the region of Souss-Massa-Draa in Morocco, is the quaint town of Tiznit. Although it is not as old as some of the towns and villages to be found across the country of Morocco, a Tiznit holiday is guaranteed to give travellers a true taste of what everyday Moroccan life is like. Visitors can expect to be able to watch the world go by and enjoy the silence whilst resting comfortably in a luxurious Tiznit holiday rental house. It is almost guaranteed that a Tiznit holiday will leave you with some lasting memories as well as the feeling of truly having been to the “real” Morocco.

Things to Do on Holiday in Tiznit, Morocco

Due to the fact that Tiznit is a small and somewhat traditional town, visitors will find that there is very little in the way of activities and attractions to be indulged in here. The emphasis is truly on mixing with the locals and experiencing the traditional culture of Morocco. The easiest way to do this is to visit the Suuq which is held every Thursday in the town and is one of the biggest in the area. Tiznit also has a traditional mosque, built in a typical Saharan style, complete with wooden perches protruding from all angles on the outer walls.

Places to Visit on Holiday in Tiznit, Morocco

If you do feel the need to spread your wings and leave your Tiznit holiday rental house for a while, then you could take the long (but worthwhile) journey to the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, which lies on the outskirts of the town of Ouarzazate. Ait Benhaddou has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has some of the finest examples of Kasbahs to be found in the whole of Morocco. Many travellers flock to the village each year and it has been used in many recognisable films that date back as far as the 1960s.

Weather in Tiznit, Morocco

Booking a Tiznit holiday rental house means that you will be able to enjoy some fabulous weather, with an Arid climate meaning that the town is mainly dry and warm throughout the year. Most travellers stay in Tiznit from August through to September when it can reach as warm as 32°C during the daylight hours. The lowest temperatures usually occur in January and February when it can drop to around 14°C, which may be more comfortable for those who don’t like too much heat. There is very little rainfall during the year and the village sees approximately 3 inches of rain during 12 months.

Travel to Tiznit, Morocco

To start enjoying a Tiznit holiday, travellers can depart the UK from various airports such as Newcastle(NCL), Stansted (STN), Edinburgh (EDI), Birmingham (BHX) and Manchester (MAN). Amongst the airlines offering regular, affordable flights to Agadir Airport (AGA), which is just over an hour away from the town, are Ryan air, EasyJet, Thomas Cook Airlines, British Airways and Thomson Airways.

Merci LINDA pour ce séjour magnifique. Les filles ont adoré. La villa est superbe. Le sevice impeccable. Tout le monde était là avec le sourire et la gentillesse infinie de la région. On reviendra sûrement une autre et autre fois.

Spacious house in friendly village

4 of 5
Casa Riad was great value and situated in a nice, atmospheric setting at the edge of the village. The house was spacious, well equipped and clean, and Ian provided us with lots of useful information. We really enjoyed the village and I also enjoyed walking on the scrubby hillsides out the back. The people were very friendly, even though they had suffered from the devastating floods a couple of weeks earlier. It would have been great to interact more, but most daylight hours we were off exploring (and my French is much rustier than I feared!). Our 6 year old daughter was often transfixed by it all and the locals certainly took to her - several ladies enjoyed patting her on the head and giving her kisses! A car is pretty essential (although there seemed to be lots of modern green buses plying between Tiznit and the coast, and taxis are relatively cheap) and roads are fine, so could quickly along the coast or take trip to Tafroute in the hills. Beaches are better down towards Mirleft, so a 25 minute drive most days. Tiznit is only a few minutes drive away and seemed a nice, fairly quiet town, with a couple of small supermarkets shops and plenty of markets. We really enjoyed a relaxing stay at Casa Riad and would be happy to visit again.
