The city has many historic and religious buildings such as Cathedral of Sacre C’ur or the Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. The Hassan II Mosque is also an impressive building and the second largest mosque in the world.
Another interesting building in Casablanca is the Boulaouane Kasbah, which is a fortress overlooking the Wadi Oum er-Rbia River. Tourists will also find some galleries and museums in the region including Villa des Arts, which has many interesting art pieces. A five hour road trip to Marrakech will enable holidaymakers to find more historic and beautiful features including the impressive Agdal Gardens.

The hottest time of the year in Casablanca is usually July and August when the average maximum high temperature is about 26 degrees centigrade. There is hardly any rain between June and August. January and December see an average of six rainy days per month.

Royal Air Maroc is the biggest airline handling flights here with destinations including many North African and Middle Eastern cities as well as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome and Zurich amongst others. Taxis, buses and train shuttles carry passengers between Casablanca city and the airport. Car rental firms are also located at the airport.
