Make a Holiday Rental Villa on Montserrat Island Your Home Away From Home
Montserrat is a beautiful island located in the Caribbean Sea, which has seen its fair share of troubled times. The island is probably most famous for the eruption of the Soufriere Hill Volcano in 1995. Since then Montserrat has managed to build its tourism back up with plenty of stunning beaches, outdoor activities and the draw of viewing an active volcano from a very safe distance. Renting a Montserrat holiday villa on the island guarantees an adventurous and interesting trip.

Made up of soft volcanic sand, visitors can enjoy sunbathing, swimming, diving, deep sea fishing or snorkelling at most of the beaches. Places to Visit on Holiday to Montserrat Island
One of the main draws of the island is being able to see the devastation left behind after the Soufriere Hill Volcano erupted. The old capital of Plymouth has been described as a “Modern day Pompeii” and is worth a look. Although there is an exclusion zone around the town for safety reasons, visitors can be seen from vantage points nearby such as Jack Boy Hill and the Montserrat Volcano Observatory. The observatory is one of the best places to learn more about volcanoes in general as well about what exactly happened on the island in 1995.
Also worth a visit is Carr’s Bay Historical Site which is located at the north end of the island. Here visitors will be able to see remains of an old fort with some old cannons pointing in the general direction of Redonda. There is also the opportunity to see replicas of the war memorial and clock tower that were destroyed in Plymouth.
