Make a holiday rental home or villa on the Mexican Riviera your home away from home

The Mexican Riviera is the coastal region on the western coast of Mexico, running from Ensenada in the north to Acapulco in the south. The region is popular with cruise ships, which cruise into ports along the Mexican Riviera, allowing passengers to bask on the fantastic Pacific beaches, explore the mysteries of Mexico’s ancient past and sample the fine gastronomy of western Mexico. Discerning tourists can easily enjoy all the finest parts of the Mexican Riviera, far from the cruise ship hot spots, with the unhindered freedom provided by a holiday rental home on the Mexican Riviera.

Things to do on the Mexican Riviera

There are thousands of miles of Pacific beaches to explore from a holiday rental property on the Mexican Riviera, adorned with fantastic little traditional villages and international tourist resorts. The whole coastline is famous for its pristine beaches, which are backed by thick forests and dramatic cliff faces. The main beach resorts are filled with water sports centres, where you can enjoy a vast range of sports, especially sailing and windsurfing, as well as scuba diving and deep sea fishing. Whale watching trips are also fantastic off the coast of the Mexican Riviera.

Holiday homes in the Mexican Riviera provide visitors with a wonderful taste of Old Mexico. The bright colours and rich flavours of Mexican culture and cuisine flourish, and you can still find a huge array of old cobbled streets to walk, as well as deep water lagoons for swimming and spectacular landscapes, especially along the Papagayo River. High speed jet boat tours up the river are particularly special, passing through spectacular canyons and past huge cliffs, which are frequented by brave La Quebrada cliff divers, who put on a magnificent spectacle.

Places to visit on the Mexican Riviera

The town of Acapulco has been regarded as the ultimate Mexican Riviera town for decades, and for good reason. The town is a destination which continues to appeal to the internationally jet set, with a great range of high class restaurants and bars, as well as some of the finest sailing and water sports facilities anywhere on the Mexican Riviera.

Troncones is a beautiful beach town, which is hugely popular with surfers looking to enjoy the Pacific swells that hit the coastline. The town’s impressive surroundings and highly laid back atmosphere have also made it a favourite for anyone wishing to cleanse mind, body and soul, surrounded by unspoilt countryside and many miles of pure, white beaches.

Ayutla is a magnificently remote, mountainous area inland from the coast of the Mexican Riviera, offering tourists a wonderful place to escape and relax in style. Horse riding, fishing, mountain biking and mountain climbing holidays are fantastic from Ayutla.

Climate in the Mexican Riviera

The Mexican Riviera truly does enjoy a year round climate, which sees holiday rental properties in high demand throughout the year. Daily temperatures peak between 24°C and 28°C for the vast majority of the year, with temperatures in August and September creeping into the mid 30’s, marking the height of summer.

Cheap flights to the Mexican Riviera

Guadalajara Airport (GDL) is just over an hour from a holiday rental on the Mexican Riviera, and although there are no direct, long haul flights to Guadalajara, there are plenty of connecting flights from the southern states of America.
