  • A well maintained and private property just outside Grand Baie in North Mauritius.
    5 of 5

The villa is tucked away down a street just off the main road, close enough to the centre of Grand Baie but far enough away to ensure complete tranquility. Shirley was very prompt in all communication and visited us at the beginning and end of our holiday. For the remainder of the time we were looked after by Indranee, who also made us a fantastic lunch on the day of our arrival. Plenty of good local restaurants close by and a lovely small beach which is often deserted, unlike some of its more illustrious neighbours. Also worth noting is Robert, who Shirley organised for us for a day trip out to go snorkelling with the dolphins and a BBQ on a small private island. All in all, a fantastic holiday, made better by the attention from Shirley and Indranee.

  • Tastefull modern Villa with private Jacuzzi and pool nearby on development

We booked very last minute and the owner replied swiftly to our request. We needed a 3 bed property so that myself, husband and 2 teenage sons could enjoy a holiday in Mauritius. The information sent gave us the address and area of Mauritius. The area is 1:30 hrs drive from the airport. When we arrived at Port Aux Piments it was difficult to find the actual road the house was located on. Local people were aware of the road but not the exact location. We did mange find the Pearl Residences signage but it does need to be larger as it was hard to find . We drove past it several times. When we arrived ,due to it being a last minute booking there was a little confusion about our actual arrival date and time. The security guard was very helpful and contacted Tina , who arrived promptly to let us in and explained the house to us. We availed Tina of the cooking option for the evening. We were shown how to use the Jacuzzi etc. Our stay was pleasant and most issues were resolved when Tina came back to check on us the next morning. Unfortunately the WIFI was not strong in the upstairs and an extra booster was brought to assist the signal in the downstairs. The Jacuzzi took 24 hours to reach temperature and was lovely to use daily. A list of items that needed attention was left- such as new batteries in the master AC unit- nothing too onerous. Tina informed us that the electric to the area was being switched off on out last day. This gave us time to plan for our departure. Also there was a maintenance issue with the main TV, this was not rectified during our stay. If you are booking and English like us, please be aware that the TV is mainly French- Canal+ with BBC World Service News. It was nice not to have TV on, ensured we switched off.The house is well appointed and other than not having an oven- but Microwave and hob, had everything we needed. Perhaps a tin opener too- we couldn't find one. As for location - a car is essential- you are not really in walking distance to things. We loved Mont Choisy Beach best- 15 mins away. The local beach is a little more rocky. We felt very secure and safe and if you are prepared to drive and explore Mauritius the accommodation is a very well placed to provide a comfortable base in the North West of the island. I only graded 4 out of 5 due to signage and the list of little things that needed looking into as it was not 100% ready- AC, TV, Electric being switched off, batteries.etc. An enjoyable relaxing stay.
