The Margarita Tropical Gardens and Labyrinth is also a great place to explore. Visitors can also take a trip to the Venezuelan mainland and see the world’s highest waterfalls at Angel Falls in Canaima National Park. Families can have much fun at the Aquapark in Pampatar.

The island is hot all year round with around 340 sunny days during the year. Average temperatures on Margarita Island see a minimum of 25 degrees centigrade in January and a maximum of 32 degrees during the summer months of June through to September. Rainfall on the island is very short-lived. The annual rainfall is around 27 inches.
Travel to Margarita Island
Santiago Mariño Caribbean International Airport (PMV) is located near Porlamar, which is the largest city on the island. Flights arrive here from many international cities including Amsterdam (AMS), Caracas (CCS), Frankfurt (FRA), Madrid (MAD), Mexico City (MEX), Stockholm-Arlanda (ARN) and Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) amongst others. There are also seasonal flights from Milan-Malpensa (MXP) and Paris-Orly (ORY). There are taxis and car rental services available from the airport.
