Wonderful Gozo

5 of 5
First of all, this is the most beautiful place we've ever stayed in on a holiday. You walk down a short side street and open doors to a stunning 3 storey facade of Gozitan history. The courtyard you are then stood in resonates to the sound of the pool overflowing next to you. You just want to dump your bags and slide in. Even in January!!! The wow factor continues when you walk in to the house; open plan downstairs with kitchen, dining room an lounge with amazing cast iron chandelier hanging from the top floor. An original stone wall really makes you feel like you're walking in to history. Whoever has renovated this house has a real feel for originality with a classic touch. We had great difficulty deciding which bedroom to have as they're all so individual, but in the end we put our foot down and insisted on the 3rd floor room with balcony and roof terrace, while our younger friends argued over the other beautiful rooms. You are a 30 second walk from xaghra square where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. This being January it was pretty quiet but the Oleander restaurant was busy and is a thing of beauty if you like your food; octopus starter and ribeye steak were stunning and one of the best meals we've ever had, thank you Martin and Barry, our hosts! The island is full of history, mythology and beauty as well as an interesting capital (Victoria/Rabat) which feels quite colonial. You can even have a game of snooker with the locals so I might bring my cue next time! As you drive around the island you see a beautiful church and square, great bars, restaurants and friendly people every 5 minutes. Eventually you come back to a beautiful house that feels just like home. We loved it and we will be back to Dar Ta Nina. Grazzi Gozo!!

wonderful family-holidays- it was hard to leave!

5 of 5
We spend wonderful family-holidays in October 2016 in this apartment (4 adults and 2 small children). What you get: stunning view and best position (supermarkets, restaurants, beaches, diving centers in small walking distance); very helpful and friendly owner; clean and rustic apartment with plenty of space The only things we missed: a washing machine, some more glasses, plates and cutlery It was our second stay on Gozo. The owner was very friendly and helpful- before and during the stay: He offered help in organizing a rental car and airport transfer, it was no problem that we send a packet to his private adress in advance to reduce baggage (we not even had to pick it up- he brought it to us and it was really heavy), he waited next to the apartment until 1am (our plane arrived on Malta at 11pm so we caught the ferry at midnight) to hand over the keys and show us the flat and in the middle of our holidays he brought us fresh towels and linen. The apartment offers the best view over Marsalforn Bay you can imagine. We enjoyed it so much- day and night. There was plenty of space for a group of our size. Every room had a private balcony, enough storage and was very clean. We cannot imagine the apartment being dirty and housing insects just 2 months ago. All surfaces are of stone, tile or massive wood - so there are obviously not much possibilities to accumulate dirt or anything- which we found to be very important because the kids brought in so much sand from the beach. The whole house and staircase were also very clean. In the dresser was a little bit dust so I wiped it before putting the clothes in. A new cleaning rag and broom and a new sponge in the kitchen would have been nice, but towels and linen were absolutely clean which was more important to us. We already plan our next stay in this apartment. Price-Performance-ratio is very good!
