You may also spend a day canoeing, bird spotting or even participating in morning or evening game drives.

Of course, Rift Valley IS the destination, but that doesn’t mean that there are some sites that you’ll want to be sure to see. Whilst on holiday to the Rift Valley you will surely stop at some of the lakes, such as Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, which are both amazing spots for wildlife spotting. You will see zebra, elephants and buffalo drinking from the lake, and you will never forget the sight of thousands of flamingos with their bright pink feathers aglow resting in and near the water.

The weather in the Rift Valley is hot and humid all year. The average low temperatures are between 14° and 18° C. The average high temperatures are between 30° and 36° C. There is some rain each month. Some months, such as July, bring as little as 20 mm while months that fall during the rainy season, such as April, bring as many as 200 mm of precipitation.  

Travel to the Rift Valley, Kenya

Those travelling to the Rift Valley will typically fly into Nairobi International Airport (NBO). From there charter planes to regional airports will complete the journey. One such regional airport is Wilson Airport (WIL), but you may also have another stop along your way.
