Make a holiday rental home or villa in Runaway Bay, Jamaica your home away from home

Jamaica is one of the world’s most desired holiday destinations, and the picturesque North Coast is where many of the top tourist accommodation and attractions lie. Ideally positioned in the centre of the north coast within touching distance of both Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay is a town in the Saint Ann Parish which offers plenty for any visitor, with its excellent beaches and activities in the blue of the Caribbean Sea framed to a stunning mountain backdrop.

Things to do in Runaway Bay, Jamaica

Once a satellite town of nearby Ocho Rios, Runaway Bay is now a popular destination in its own right, with many of the same attractions but less of the crowds of its more famous neighbour. This includes a big white sandy public beach, as well as several private stretches. Ocean View Beach is an example of such a private beach, and offers excellent sunbathing and swimming, as well as showering facilities and bar/snack shops. A small entry fee is charged.

Plenty of bars and restaurants can all be found in and around the area, with the main difference being that Runaway Bay nightlife is more laid-back and less hectic than some of the other nearby resorts, making for a laid-back but fun atmosphere in the evenings. At the other end of the scale, the open-minded may wish to consider the famous Hedonism III nudist resort, an adults-only resort which is built on 10 acres and has a liberal attitude to almost every vice going.

Breezes Championship Golf Course, Bamboo river rafting, catamaran cruises and helicopter tours are just some of the various other options than can be pursued in and arund Runaway Bay.

Places to visit on holiday in Runaway Bay, Jamaica

A great range of tourist facilities make Ocho Rios the second most visited destination in the country and a must-see for any holidaymaker.

Very well maintained and equipped villa!

5 of 5
Lovely home, well maintained swimming pool and gardens. Felt secure and villa is fitted with alarm and safe. Nicely presented and clean in all areas. Good size rooms all with ensuites. Wi fi nor TV worked (Cable). However got some dvds and purchased a local sim local sim and data credit for Ja $3000. The karaoke sound system was good. Mrs Riley was happy to be of any assistance including cooking cleaning etc if needed. Thanks for helping us get an additional car. It's approx 20 min walk from runaway bay (Flavours). However from there easy to to Ocho etc, by bus or taxi which you can get for cheap. Also salem or brownstown stop light for nearest supermarket. So it's handy to have some transport. So overall it's a lovely villa and had the most enjoyable stay. We found it great value for money. Mr O'Neil villa is well equipped and has a cold drinking water dispenser, optics and many more quirky things which we would not expected which was an added bonus.

Sweet Spot was a sweeeeeet vacation!

5 of 5
We LOVED our time at the Sweet Spot villa. The layout of the house and property was ideally suited to our needs, with lots of outdoor living space to enjoy as a group. We were a group of adults and children, and everyone loved the space. The staff took such good care of us - Donny is a delight and Miss Rose kept our bellies full - we felt very well treated. We were nervous about the beach not being private, but we had no reason to worry - it was mostly secluded and was a wonderful swimming spot. It was really nice to be able to wander up and down the beach at length. Being an hour away from the airport is the perfect distance - not too far to have to travel, but far enough away from the noise and population of the airport. We very much look forward to our next trip to Sweet Spot.
