The apartment was very clean and spacious, warm and comfortable for our family of 4 adults. The location was very peaceful and relaxing. The kitchenette was well equipped (although a microwave oven would have been handy), and the open plan lounge/diner had a large dining table, so we could cook and eat our own meals and feel at home. There was a large fridge freezer in the adjoining store room for all our grocery shopping. We enjoyed the warm sunshine from the living room balcony, which was also excellent for drying clothes. The extra toilet with washing machine was very convenient. An added bonus was the secure parking in the lower ground floor.
There is a mini market in the town which was very convenient for basic foods and other household essentials e.g bread rolls, cold meats, fruit and vegetables, toilet rolls etc. and there is also a newsagent with coffee bar. For more extensive shopping, we drove into nearby Cortina d'Ampezzo (20 min drive) which has a large Co-operative store.
The apartment was an excellent base for exploring many areas in the Dolomites - we managed to visit Cinque Torre, Lago di Braies, Tre Cimes to name a few. We even drove to Venice for a day trip (1 hour 45 minutes).
Check out was smooth and the deposit was repaid very quickly. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so thank you once again Michel!
We were late in the season for skiing in April, but still skied in Cortina (no snow left locally). The accomodation was compact, which might be awkward for big people. But it was warm and fully functional, with awesome views over the village and valley.
The apartment has its own boiler for hot water and central heating, which you pay extra for gas (cost us 14€ for one week).
During our stay the hosts were nice and friendly, giving us information on local things of interest. But they did not bother us all the time.
The area was blissfully quiet at night with great views of the stars in the sky. There is nice local supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, ski hire in the main street.
Access may be awkward in heavy snow as the road is steep, but worth the effort.
