Things to do in Venice Lido, Italy

Venice Lido can be split into three distinct parts: the Lido itself at the north of the sandbar, the central area – known as Malamocco, and Alberoni at the southern tip.

Venice Lido is perhaps best known as the home of the Venice Film Festival, which takes place during late August or early September every year and is the oldest film festival in the world. Those who plan to visit during this period should book their Venice Lido holiday rental accommodation well in advance, as the popularity of the festival should never be underestimated.

The Malamocco inlet is the home of a 12th Century parish church and a number of other historical buildings that date back prior to the 15th Century. Alberoni is a great destination for golf lovers, as it is home to Circolo Golf Venezia, the only course on the Lido, and indeed the only golf course in Venice.

Made famous in Thomas Mann’s ‘Death in Venice’, Venice Lido Beach is a popular spot to relax on during hot summer’s days, and occupies a large portion of the Adriatic Coast side of the Lido. Shops, cafes, bars and restaurants can all be found nearby, so visitors never have to venture far when it comes to time to eat.

Great place to stay while visiting Venice and surrounding islands.

We liked the apartment very much and enjoyed our stay. It was very nicely organized and had a distinctive style. it was comfortable and convenient as well, in terms of shops, transport, everything. There is direct connection from the airport as well as to Venice (St. Mark's square, train station). It was peaceful locality with fragrance of flower in the surroundings quite often and close to the beach.

I am one of Luciana's students and I booked the apartment through her cooking school. The apartment is modern, spacious and extremely clean. Two beautiful private terraces and the top terrace you can see the whole San Marco square! The location is perfect, very close to the town centre and restaurants, and the beach is just few steps away. Loved every minute of my staying. Thank you again Luciana and I will see you soon in one of your cooking classes in Sydney! Lots of love Adriana
