The breakfast and evening meal were delicious traditional Italian. The range of wines from the family vineyard were great too. Highly recommended.

This villa is amazing, I'm not sure how old it is but certainly a couple of hundred years! We were 2 families staying for 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. The villa is exceptionally spacious and has a lived in feel so we didn't feel like we were treading on eggshells! It stands atop a hill just off the motorway, we weren't bothered by the motorway noise but the SR69 is a very busy road! It put me off walking (or running as I like to do) anywhere until I realised that you can walk up the road opposite (where the bins are) and loop back on to the main road, there is then a protected footpath into Ciliegi and to various local restaurants. You can also turn off towards a little place called Bruschetti and continue onto a path which runs alongside the river Arno, it's a very pretty walk. We ate out at 3 local restaurants, all lovely but getting progressively cheaper with no deterioration in food quality! Hostaria Ceccotoccami, fantastic food, mixed service (not enough staff).Ostaria de'Guisti, lovely traditional restaurant, great food and Pizzeria Ristorante Casereccia, great value, lovely food, good lunch time menu, incredibly cheap house wine which was very drinkable! You can see them all on Tripadvisor. Manuela was very helpful with booking restaurants as very few speak English! We went to Florence on the train which worked brilliantly, free parking at the station and a 30 min trip into the centre. Hopped on the open top bus tour, recommended as it can take you up to Piazza Michaelangelo (quite a trek) and also up into the hills, well worth it for the views alone. There are several small supermarkets in Ciliegi but we favoured the big Coop 10 mins away. There is a little parade of shops just before you get to the supermarket which has a lovely pasticcheria/bar/cafe (Savini White Bistrot) serving tapas, 5 euro after 6pm, a glass of prosecco for 3.50 euro! One downside of the property is the mosquito population, we were eaten alive despite copious quantities of repellent! Invest in industrial amounts of spray/candles/smoke! We could not leave the windows open at night which made the bedrooms very hot, if you are driving then take fans! The swimming pool area is lovely with plenty of shade provided by 2 gazebos, it is shared with the other properties but apart from one family, the pool was only used by 2 resident couples at the weekend so it is very private. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend Villa Il Nibbio to anyone!

                                                                              Superb villa, just perfect

A wonderful villa, not too precious but very well presented and adequately equipped. Lovely bed linen and towels. Great bathrooms. The pool was so well set out and very safe for our 4 grandchildren ages 6,5,4,&3. they loved it, spending as much time as possible swimming, diving and playing. It was all so relaxing we lost count of the days. Lorenzo came and cooked a typically Tuscan meal for us,- super. We drank great wine and watched amazing sunsets and wild storms from the terrace. Nicola was a great host, most attentive and informative. We saw the wild boar (3 adults and 3 young on several occasion foraging for pears in the orchard below the terrace- fascinating for the children. Altogether a truly memorable family holiday. Would highly reccommend
