Make a holiday rental apartment or villa in Val di Sieve, Italy your home away from home

Val di Sieve is a rural province in the Florence region of Tuscany. Running along a narrow valley of the River Sieve, and surrounded by the steep foothills of the Apennines, the Val di Sieve is a wonderfully scenic, peaceful place to take a holiday rental, especially if you would like a great walking holiday with great local wines in abundance.

There is a very traditional feel to holidays in the Val di Sieve, with beautiful parish churches, ancient castles standing proud and huge renaissance villas adorning the countryside. The Apennine hills are a delight to walk. Walking, mountain biking and horse riding holidays in the area are absolutely fantastic, with plenty of completely unspoilt stretches of the valley allowing you to enjoy an absolutely timeless holiday. There are a number of mountain bike rental shops, riding stables and route maps available throughout the province.

The wine trails of the Val di Sieve are a great asset to the region. Taking in both the famous vineyards and some of the best viewpoints in the area, walking, cycling or driving the wine trails are fantastic ways to get to know the Val di Sieve, especially if this is your first visit to a Val di Sieve villa. The vineyards of famous wines from Londa to Rufina offer magnificent wine tasting tours, allowing you to quickly find the perfect accompaniment to the Tuscan delicacies you will be enjoying during your holiday. Many of the wines of the Val di Sieve have strong fruit flavours, with vanilla, raspberry and cherries being among the most compelling flavours.

The attractions of Florence are endless, from the huge domed Cathedral of Santa Maria to the Fountain of Neptune. An idyllic holiday

The house lived up to its description of having spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. It is situated half way up the hillside in the vineyard, making the approach unsuitable for cars without a reasonable ground clearance, but our hired Golf had no problem. We received a warm welcome and Jane and her husband had provided everything we could possibly require to enjoy our holiday, right down to the timetable for the train into Florence. The house is beautifully restored and has very comfortable accommodation and every mod. con. Jane and her family live in an adjacent property and Pontassieve is only about 10 minutes away so although the property has its unique setting, there is no feeling of remoteness.
