Make a holiday rental home or villa in Stintino, Sardinia your home away from home

The village of Stintino is an excellent beach resort on the northern tip of Sardinia, in the Sassari region. There is a clear Spanish influence on the buildings of Stintino, Sardinia, but the culture, cuisine and lifestyles of Stintino are clearly Sardinian.

Things to do in Stintino, Sardinia

The beaches of Stintino, Sardinia are of course a leading attraction in the area. The most famous beach within easy walking distance of Stintino accommodation is La Pelosa, which is one of the most beautiful in the whole of Sardinia, lapped by gloriously clear waters of the Mediterranean, and covered in pure, white sand. The beaches of Saline, Ezzi Mannu and Puzzona are absolutely stunning too, but it is hard to get a look in when you have a beach of La Pelosa’s quality so close by.

Water sports absolutely thrive from Stintino accommodation, which makes family holidays in the area hugely popular. Sailing, windsurfing, surfing, fishing and scuba diving excursions all thrive, with equipment rental, lessons and guided tours all readily available.

On dry land, the unspoilt countryside is an ideal place to explore, especially if you would like to work off a few of the calories taken on during a long leisurely lunch overlooking the sea. The coastal paths in the area are particularly special to walk, cycle or ride.

Stintino is host to an extraordinary array of festivals and events during the summer months. The Regata della vela Latina boat races at the end of August is one of the major social events in the Stintino calendar, which brings the whole town together in a cloud of excitement and competition. The Feast of the Blessed Virgin of Didesa, Tuna Festival, rural Feast of St Isidore and the Feast of St Nicholas at the end of September also bring a huge amount of excitement to the town. You are unlikely to visit a self catering Stintino villa during the summer months without having the chance to enjoy at least one musical, cultural or sporting event.

The regional capital, also called Sassari has been a favourite holiday destination of the Spanish Royal Family for many years, and it is clear to see why as soon as you enter the town. Peaceful Sardinian September

4 of 5
Our first visit to Sardinia was barely marred by fairly inclement weather including a momentous thunderstorm. The villa is in a peaceful rural setting and has all requirements for a self catering stay. Although Pelrosa beach is the eye catching beach paradise some 20 mins away we preferred the quieter beach 5 mins from the villa. Not the prettiest part of island but lots to do and see. Enjoyed a potter round the 2 historic towns of Sassari and Alghero and Neptunes Cave is breathtaking and worth a visit . Daily trips to local port of Sasari to shop and for a sundowner - a village which really grew on us. Daily exercise on the villa table tennis table grew in competitiveness as the week wore on ! Pool a good size to recuperate in after tennis. Really appreciated the welcome and help and advice plus starter pack from Karen our host. A lovely week

Appartamento molto bello e confortevole!

5 of 5
Siamo stati molto bene!
