The city of Spoleto sits proudly on the top of one of the foothills of the Apennines in Umbria, Italy. Although the city is believed to have been first occupied in 5BC, much of the remaining building and influences are strongly medieval, scattered with Roman architectural gems like the famous amphitheatre and Spoleto villas, although there are artifacts, remains and treasures dating back from every era in the last 2,500 years. Spoleto holidays are a haven of peace and culture, where a warm welcome, laid back atmosphere and a natural way of life make taking a holiday rental in Spoleto such a treat.

The bridge was built on the old Roman aqueduct, soaring 262m above the ground.

Wonderful setting, comfy and relaxing. A long walk from Town, closed aqueduct: drive a challenge!

4 of 5
Spoleto charming and full of interest. The steeple and tortuous access became a problem when the driver had an inner-ear problem: rescued by the wonderful Sophie and Franco, who provided taxi service and support with hospital visits. Cured within 48hrs (Hospital Staff were super): these were the days it rained. The views, the crepuscular visits by wild boar piglets after the fallen figs, the hot tub... each a delight. Such a shame the aqueduct remains closed, even to pedestrians, or it would have been an unqualified success. Being too mean to hire mr AVIS' satnav, got wonderfully lost between Spoleto and Orvieto: the scenery was magnificent. I will aim to get lost again the next time I visit! The unexpected gem was Bevagna, ancient, solid, largely unspoiled: well with a visit, if only to slow down even more.

Beautiful pool, great location, highly recommended

5 of 5
My friends and I had a wonderful stay in apartments 5 and 6. These set in beautifully kept gardens with a communal BBQ area, that we made good use of, with a gorgeous view from the lovely clean pool. Norma and Laurie were great hosts and recommended a few places to eat as well as a wonderful private chef who came to cook for us one night (also highly recommended)
