Sardinia is a beautiful and very varied island. There is so much to see and explore and we will certainly be returning to see a different part in future years. Our apartment was simple and an ideal base to explore the eastern side of the island. A car is essential.

A spacious two bedroom appartment with all the necessary facilities, Very helpful attentive hosts.

This property is on the outskirts of Siniscola in the basement of the owners building. The street facing side of the building is the owners bathroom fittings store. At the rear down a small slope is the entrance and a terrace with outdoor seating that affords a reasonable amount of privacy. Behind the seemingly small frontage is a spacious family apartment well shielded from the mid day sun. There is an air conditioning unit in the large open plan kitchen living area. All exterior windows have insect netting and pull down shutters. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom. There is another exit out of the second bedroom to a covered utility area. Estero and Laura the owners were very welcoming and Laura speaks excellent English. Siniscola is not (yet) an area heavily frequented by tourists. It has some excellent shops where you can find Sardinian produce and the typical arts and crafts of the area at much better prices than the resort areas. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby where a basket of groceries and some wine is surprisingly cheap. There are pizzerias, tabbachi, bakeries all in walking distance, as with most countries in the med there is an extended closing period of 3 hours or so in the heat of midday. You will need a car, but the stunningly beautiful SS125 coastal road is a few hundred metres away, with access to 200km of coast. The white sand beach at Capo Camino we chose to spend several days at is a 20 minute drive, and was sparsely populated in early summer. If you want to surround yourself with Sardinian life, not other tourists, this comes highly recommended for an authentic experience. Go and eat at one of the many agriturismo nearby where you can enjoy local cuisine and wine grown cooked and served on a family farm. The hosts will recommend you a good one. In summary, excellent facilities, value for money and a great base from which to discover Sardinia. Thank you Estero & Laura !
