Food for thought, the road less traveled

5 of 5
We all have those moments (if we are lucky ) when a sight makes us stop -really stop Maybe it's the Great Wall -Grand Canyon by sunrise or Machu Picchu - Or a moment of silence at the US Holocaust museum Or seeing the light reflect off of Michelangelo's David . But what about those other seconds in time - Deja vu Familiarity Family Deep speaks to deep over water Lineage speaks to its own. I felt it the moment I stepped off a plane in San Diego -maybe because I was conceived there- The desert in New Mexico painted with fiery orange and pink sunsets are a holy moment for me -maybe a nod to my Native American grandmother. I travel - a lot And my quest is always to walk the path less traveled. But I found it again In the countryside of the Sabina region in Italy It's a quiet sanctuary that is still hidden from many. It's lush with what many can argue produce the best olive oil in Italy. You will find a where panoramic sky, earth, and medieval villages all support and ground one another. To be here To grow here To cook here Is to be an artisan in the purest sense . At the oasis of la cucina Sabina you can rest from the chaos of the city or your life You can learn You will cook You will laugh And you can be steeped in tradition. Yes, I found my third place. Maybe you can too
