  • Excellent and authentic Puglia. Beautiful setting for a well cared for and presented Trulli.

Ceglie Messapica is a fantastic base for Ostuni region. Lecce about an hour or so by road (but you can get the train). Adriatic coast about 40mins by car. Ceglie is a lovely town with a couple of supermarkets, local shops and some lovely restaurants and bars. If you like authentic Italy then you will love this region. In the details of this property (English) you may get confused about the availability of bicycles and TV/ Satellite. To be fair to Guiseppe (the owner) the Italian language version of Home Away points out to these being available at extra cost but the TV is only Italian language. So it’s actually Home Aways translation at fault. The owner is faultless in helping but does not speak English however we found ‘translation’ apps are fantastic. This Trulli is fabulous.

  • Sweet little house.

We enjoyed our stay in this charming little house by the sea. The house is a little dated but has been generally well maintained and was immaculately clean when we arrived. The bedrooms in particular are well presented. The kitchen is small and basic but there is enough there to be able to prepare simple meals. We received a warm welcome from Luana when we arrived and she was very responsive to any queries throughout our stay. October is definitely low season, so Specchiolla is basically shut except for the surprisingly well stocked shop around the corner. Lido Tiziano on the sea front is also a lovely spot for a morning coffee. There is plenty to do in the area as long as you have a car. Ostuni, Alberobello, Brindisi and Lecce are all within easy reach and well worth a visit. The closest small towns are San Vito and Carovigno both of which have a choice of good restaurants.
