We had a wonderful time in San Felice del Benaco. Host Francois was welcoming and a great help in directing us to local amenities and restaurants. The pools are fab, great for children of all ages. It was quiet and peaceful in lovely grounds which were understated. Safe for children to run around and play. Apartment inc wifi was great. Comfortable beds and so nice that apartment is equipped with cleaning stuff and everything u need. We arrived early and Francois was very accommodating! You can walk to a number of restaurants inc el patio and le vela, both have atmosphere and good food. Would highly recommend this venue as a lovely family stay. Thank you Francois for making us so welcome love the Hlustiks xxx
We’ve just returned from a week staying at an apartment in this beautiful 16th century converted monastery. We are a family of 5 (children aged 11, 9 & 5.)
The apartment itself was well appointed and well provisioned with all the cooking pots/utensils that we needed. The best feature of the apartment is the view: absolutely stunning! It’s a couple of miles from the lake as the crow flies but you are offerded the most beautiful view of Salo and the lake, courtesy of the monastery’s high vantage point. It’s a little tricky to get to - up a narrow switchback mountain road - but well worth it and you soon get used to it. Although next time we’ll opt for an automatic hire car!
Our host was Valentina and she was superb: very thoughtful through the booking process and throughout our stay. Nothing too much trouble (even sending back a forgotten tablet pc via courier after we left!) We were so impressed with her excellent service. Grazie, Valentina!
We ventured out most days: nearby villages/towns (Salo & Sirmione the highlights), swimming in the lake (Mokai private beach is worth spending a little on the sun loungers and the convenience of the bar/restaurant), Cavour water park (excellent!). A couple of days were spent chilling by the lovely, shared pool. It was never very busy and the children loved it. Also good to jump into when returning from a long, hot day trip.
This was our visit to Lake Garda and we will definitely return. Bellissimo!
