This apartment was brilliant, it had everything we needed for a lovely week on the beach. It was very clean and had air conditioning, a sea view from the balcony, private parking. It's right next to the beach and there are shops just a short walk away.
The pool and grounds were beautifully maintained. There are two sun loungers and a parasol on the beach which come with the apartment. Luigi was very welcoming and helpful.
It's only a short drive to Punta Sabbioni where you can get the boat to Venice and the other islands in the lagoon.
Overall highly recommended.
A 20/25 minutes pretty frequent tram or bus journey to Venice island & a quiet neighbourhood but very near a good small supermarket & just over 5 mins walk away (just beyond the Town Hall) to a great little locals' café/patisserie with a small outside seating area where they sell lovely coffee & deliciously filled croissants & (pastry) cornettos. But what made this such a great rental was the owner brothers (Christian, who we mainly saw, & Gabriel). Very friendly & genuine & couldn't do enough for us. Being picked up at airport (& taken back there to pick up hire car after our two nights) by Christian was also very handy. We had the end of the top floor with two bedrooms & a private bathroom. Very comfortable beds and rooms (which were very spacious) & a good bathroom.
As for Venice itself, 2 of the 4 of us went there with low expectations (thinking, from what we had heard from some, that it would be smelly, unbearably over-crowded & very expensive) but it was really lovely, not at all smelly (despite being July & 34 degrees), not too bad as far as crowds go & full of very reasonably priced restaurants & cafes; we sat next to the Grand Canal about 50 meters down from the good side of the Rialto Bridge & Pizza were from 10 Euros & Lasagne 11 Euro - & we had a very relaxed an enjoyable evening meal there (wine no more expensive than back in British restaurants as well). All those who served us (ice creams food, coffee, beer) were friendly & there was a very nice vibe about the place. Also good to see so many free water fountains to fill your water bottle up with! Mooching around St Mark's Square at night was great watching all the bands playing outside restaurants and looking at all the beautiful buildings and the water; glad we went on a gondola ride from the Rialto Bridge; but we'd not recommend queuing to go into St Mark's Basilica - we went in using the 'miss the queue' option but it was so commercial (you even have to pay extra to go up near the altar!) & it's unlikely many will get a great religious experience in there, outside perhaps of going to a service & seen many nicer churches. It was nice both nights to go back to rental property & it was good value, even taking account of the tram/bus ticket cost - but 1.50 Euro each one way is very good value. An extra day to have gone to the other islands would have been nice.
Would definitely recommend Venice and, if going there, to stay at the Golden House.
Thanks Christian and Gabriel!
