Beautiful spacious house with large roof terrace and great views of Mt. Etna.

5 of 5
This house is an absolute gem! We did not bother to hire a car because it is so easy to get to by public transport. We took the shuttle bus from Catania airport to Catania railway station, 15 minutes, 4 euros. Then a comfortable half hour train ride to Riposto, 3 euros. The house is a short walk from the station but the very helpful owner Andrea picked us up at the station. The house has a well equipped kitchen ( but without a kettle) .Andrea said he would rectify this! The sitting room and the bedroom are large and remain cool even without the air con on.It was hot but we just put the air con on at night. The huge sun terrace is the jewel in the crown of this house! It has enough chairs tables and sofas to throw a large party. Andrea was continually sending us whatsapps advising us what was on in the town ( he lives nearby). Within 5 minutes walk there are marvellous fruit and veg shops and a supermarket. Within 10 minutes walk there are several great restaurants, very reasonably priced. Bella Napoli on Corso Italia, Trattoria Marricriu on Via Antonio Gramsci, were great as was Le Botti On Via Cristofo Colombo down in the port (we got a table right on the waters edge) We also loved the beach 5 minutes walk away. It's a pebble beach enclosed on 3 sides by a rock wall so we were swimming and snorkelling in what was really a giant rock pool 500 metres long and 100 metres wide, full of marine life ,fish ,crabs etc.Stunning! We also took the Circumetnea train ,5 minutes walk to the station. You get a 3 hour train trip round Mt Etna. for 6 euros! A half hour train or bus ride up the coast would take you to Taormina with its Roman Amphitheatre. This was one of the best Owners Direct properties we have stayed in. Book it . You won't regret it !

Casale enorme e molto curato, adatto a gruppi o più famiglie. Vista favolosa e tranquillità garantita. La spiaggia sottostante è parecchio sporca con sassi, ma presenta comunque un bel mare.
