Make a holiday rental home or apartment in Rezzonico, Italy your home away from home

Lake Como is filled with idyllic towns and villages that can help you make the most of the fantastic weather, scenery and attractions that the region has to offer, and Rezzonico is one of the finest of them all. The village is something of a hidden gem, receiving just a handful of visitors every year, but offers some of the most amazing views out over the lake, has good transport links, and gives off an almost unmatchable aura of peacefulness and serenity - making it an ideal destination for a relaxing Lake Como break.

Things to do in Rezzonico, Italy

Lake Como is nothing short of spectacular, and some excellent views of the crystal-clear lake can be enjoyed from Rezzonico’s main piazza. The reason for this is that the town lies in direct line with the fork of the lake - where Como heads off to the right and Lecco fades off to the left – the perfect snapshot opportunity.

Lake Como is surrounded by high mountains, which offer plenty in the way of energetic activities that make the most of the weather of the season. Water sports and other activities are easy to arrange around Lake Como, and a boat tour along the serene lake is arguably the most popular excursion with visitors of all ages.

With neighbouring San Siro under 1km away, the two villages essentially blend in to each other, doubling your options when it comes to dining out and shopping. San Siro boasts an excellent pizzeria and some good grocery stores, and an enjoyable 10-15 minute walk can be had between the two destinations. An even wider range of shopping and eating options can be had in Menaggio, 7km away.

Places to visit on holiday in Rezzonico, Italy

Both Milan (84km) and Switzerland are within easy reach of Rezzonico, but if you are not prepared to venture even that far, there are still many day trip options available to you. One idea is to head straight to Como itself. The region’s principle city sits at the southern tip of the south-western arm of the lake, 40km south of Rezzonico, and has an array of historic and modern attractions.

Weather in Rezzonico, Italy

From May to October it is hard to fault the weather in Rezzonico, with clear blue skies, warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine being the norm. Temperatures cool somewhat from October onwards, but this is also when rainfall levels decrease, meaning a pleasant holiday in Rezzonico can also be enjoyed even during winter.

Flights to Rezzonico, Italy

The two Milan airports – Bergamo (BGY) and Malpensa (MXP), are a similar distance from Rezzonico and represent the best and cheapest way of getting to the town from the UK. The distances are 103km and 97km respectively, and a number of UK airlines fly to these destinations throughout the year.

Wonderful Family Memorable Holiday!

5 of 5
We had the most amazing family holiday. The apartment is in a wonderful location. Very Italian. Peaceful but with amenities locally & only 10 minutes from the buzz of Mennagio. Having our two daughters aged 17 & 20 with us it was perfect having two floors & two bathrooms. They could enter the poolside and garden from their own door. The balcony was superb and a great size for all of us to sit & eat comfortably. The apartment was exceptionally clean & well presented. We used all the facilities including washing machine & dishwasher. All great but only one appliance at any one time ha ha. Italian electrics. We were still able to make a cup of tea as the kettle didnt appear to be affected. Location wise, we were so thrilled. Menaggio 10 mins by car & easy for picking up the water taxi. We used it for both foot and car and it was great fun. Very straightforward. We also picked it up from Cadenabbria which was a little less hectic. Bellagio is just the most pretty place & lots of great places to eat by the waterside. It's steep but so worthwhile exploring up into the tiny cobbled streets. Our girls hired a kayak and went out onto the lake which they enjoyed. €20 for an hour. We did try to book a boat but left it to late & shop around as prices really do vary. We went off into Switzerland via the mountains which was fun. Very haunting to see them so close up but worth the trip. Half a day exploring. Having pretty much covered the whole lake during our 10 days we were so pleased with our location in San Siro. Away from the tourist areas but with other families on holiday & Italian families surrounding us, there was always comings & goings to provide an atmosphere. Simply wonderful. The only aspect to take into consideration is the stairs up to the apartment. Three flights of stairs but totally manageable unless perhaps nursing injuries or of an elderly age & find stairs tricky. Parking was good. Always a space available. We all had the most memorable time. Cannot recommend it enough both for the apartment & location. Very friendly. Just a note from our experience...if you can avoid travelling on a Sat or Sunday, please do. We were caught up in lots of traffic jams & a crash which took place alongside Lake Como & couldn't really go anywhere until cleared. However, on our rtn which was a Wednesday we literally sailed through. This was also noticeable at the Romina Residence over the weekend, changeover days & Italians arriving to chill out.
