We spent a very enjoyable three days in Ortigia. It was great to be able to have breakfast and lunch on the terrace, and use Lia's place as a base to explore Ortigia. Highly recommended.

  • Wonderful garden setting with beautiful pool for this very well equipped and comfortable villa.

The property was a great base for our first - but not last - visit to this stunning part of Sicily. Syracuse, baroque towns, good beaches and great food places all within easy reach. The double bed was large and comfortable and the sofa bed got the thumbs up from our adult daughter. Gabriello our host was so knowledgeable about the area and took us into Syracuse to show us the market, pointed out key landmarks and gave us good restaurant tips. He thoughtfully provided us with spices, coffee and fruit from his beautiful garden which is kept immaculate- as is the pool. The pool is actually bigger and far nicer than it appears in the picture. We were keen to do a Sicilian cookery class. Gabriello kindly put us in touch with a friend of his who is a cookery teacher and she came and taught us to make Arancini and caponata in our little - but well equipped - kitchen at Casa Giaia - a wonderful experience! We would thoroughly recommend Casa Gaia - comfortable, well equipped, relaxing pool and gardens, charming host and not forgetting the affectionate resident cat aka Gaia!
