It worked well for us as we had a small child so easy with a push chair and the owner was lovely putting stair gate and cot up for us very helpful. 15minutsa walk from the leaning tower of Pisa.

  • Great Apartment, Great city, Even better host!

Right, I'll get the standard stuff out of the way first. We were in Pisa for 3 days, (Sun-Weds) The apartment is fantastic. We travelled with our 2 kids (3 &9), and the place was perfect. Clean, tidy, and more than enough space for the 4 of us. Cooker , dishwasher , 2 large bedrooms, nice big bathroom, as I said, perfect. The neighbourhoods great too. there is a supermarket around the corner, make sure you check out this little area as well, there's a fantastic café (vanilla café)and the best restaurant we ate in in Pisa just opposite. Both are better, and much cheaper than anything you will find in the city centre. There's also a playground for the nippers. Now on to the host, Marco. From the start he was excellent. stayed in touch all the time, called when we had arrived, met us on arrival, really nice, friendly guy. My first impressions were great. Then everything changed. We woke up on the weds( when we were due to fly home), to a text from Marco telling us that there had been a fire at Pisa airport and that the airport was closed. Cue panic. Our flight was cancelled, no new flight until the following Sunday. All other UK flights sold out until then. We had run out of money, Ryanair weren't interested in answering phones or web chats. Insurance weren't interested, and more importantly we had nowhere to stay until Sunday, and not much money to stay with. Enter Marco. In the midst of all the chaos of trying to sort it out, Marco arrived to see how we all were, and it wasn't great. My wife was panicking, as she was about to miss work, the kids were confused, and I was stuck on the phone trying to get people to listen and help. I explained to Marco that the closest flight was Sunday, and he said the apartment was available until the Friday, maybe the Saturday, and that we could stay if we wanted to for free. FOR FREE. I couldn't believe it, still cant. He even moved the cleaner back Saturday morning, so we could stay Friday night. What an absolute hero, he let us stay, and kept in touch all throughout the rest of the stay. (which we ended up enjoying, obviously). I couldn't speak any higher of the man, he really came through where a lot of others wouldn't. Ive never had anyone help out like that where they didn't need to before. He really saved our bacon, and without him we'd have been completely stuck. I couldn't thank him anymore, and couldn't recommend him, or his apartment, or Pisa any higher.
