Fabulous property, large garden, nice pool and great views. The house was clean and well equipped and owner was helpful and easy to contact for all our questions. Local village is very nice and has the feel of a joyful holiday place, many restaurants and nice lake beaches. Rome city at half an hour drive but avoid rush hours or it will take double the time. The only thing I have to say is that there is almost nothing in walking distance so you will absolutely need a car

  • Fabulous holiday and Bracciano is a super base to explore both the delights of Rome and Lazio.

We had a superb 2 week holiday from 6 September 2018, and the property was as lovely as we had hoped for. The pool table was well used in the evenings and the swimming pool was great for cooling off after a hard days sightseeing ! Our hosts were really friendly and an excellent source of information regarding lovely places to visit, places to shop and good restaurants to try. Bracciano is superbly located - we took the train into Rome a couple of times to do the main tourist sites, which was as fabulous as we anticipated. We also took the train north to Viterbo, with it's beautiful medieval quarter and papal palaces. A real highlight !. Other trips out included a drive round the Lago di Bracciano to visit the other main towns on it's shore, Anguillara and Trevignano - both were beautiful. On our hosts advice we visited the coast at Santa Severa, with it's impressive castle, and then drove back to Bracciano via the mountain village of Tolfa. The views were spectacular. Our final trip away from Bracciano took us to the east of Rome to visit Hadrian's villa and the magnificent gardens at Villa d'est in Tivoli. Both were magnificent. When not on the road, we spent some memorable afternoons/evenings in the old part of Bracciano, with it's lovely bars, cafes and restaurants. We also loved the artisan market that was on our final weekend. A visit to the Castello Odescalchi di Bracciano was also well worth it, for the history and the impressive views of the lake. We are already looking forward to a return visit. The Horner family, Macclesfield, UK
