Amazing historic apartment

We loved the chance to stay in such an historic part of town and in such an old, grand building with high ceilings, polished floors and lovely old furniture. The views out of the windows were a visual treat and the walk up and down to town along the cobbled lanes was atmospheric (if steep). Th place was clean and our host was very helpful in helping us to get there by taxi from Turin late at night. Our sole misgiving was that there were not enough basic essentials there such as washing-up liquid and pepper and oil, and we had to buy our own. Saluzzo is rich in historic places to visit, excellent restaurants and bars, and there was a great swimming pool though it took us a while to find it. We did not have a car but buses took us to the foothills of the Alps for excellent walking and, had we wanted, we could have got a bus to Turin for a day. Really and truly our stay was a rich experience and memorable.
