  • Great villa in a spectacular setting. Stunning views from the balcony and BBQ area and a great pool.

We spent a week as two families of four at Christine’s place near Bisenti and we had a wonderful time. The villa is well equipped, particularly upstairs in the main living area. It was clean and tidy, and had all we needed. There is a large balcony wrapped around two sides of the villa which was great for lounging about and gazing at the incredible mountain views, with a big broad table perfect for meals in the evening sun. The downstairs living area is slightly simpler but perfectly nice. Outside, the pool was perfect for us and the kids, and we had a good few days doing little more than relaxing in and out of the water. At the front is table tennis and table football, and a glorious little bbq area hidden away which has the most spectacular view I’ve ever had whilst grilling! It was tricky to find as first timers, and sat nav will be of no help to you, but the Teramo and Abruzzo area was well worth the drive. We had a lovely couple of days at Pineto beach, and a delightful visit to San Lorenzo vineyard (after which we couldn’t resist taking some bottles home and putting our baggage allowance at risk for the return flight!) A week was too short, and we’re already itching to go back!

  • Beautiful house, beautiful surroundings, ideal location

Our family of four stayed during one of the hot spells of Italian summer 2017 at Magnolia, a village with few houses and set in the hills beyond the Adriatic coast. The villa has been renovated and done so in an intelligent and comfortable manner. There was ample space for us individually as well as enjoying each other's company at the various terraces or tables. The pool was a perfect way of cooling down combined with the soft breezes that came blowing over the hills at the backside. Our view was spectacular changing everytime the sun took in a different position. Leaving the house took some energy. To travel over the unpaved road leading to the villa was, however, alleviated by the 4WD provided as part of the package deal. It also allowed us to venture around in the various rocky and mountainous terrains, and visiting typical and so picturesque Italian hillside villages (Civitella del Tronto an absolute favorite). The Gran Sasso park itself is of course a wonderful way of coming across all sorts of wild animals (we saw foxes, boars, deer, and heard wolves) While we did not visit the seaside as much, there are plenty of little (and some considerable bigger ones for those enjoying that) beach resorts in reasonable distance. For all its great places and experiences, we were certainly surprised (and thankful) for the absence of greater groups of tourists. Thank you, Mike, for always being available in the case of assistance. We certainly would like to return one day.
