A large, well stocked and comfortable apartment with beautiful sea views. We didn't have a car but it was a short walk to the local beach and an easy walk into Arenzano along the seafront cycle track. Recommend hiring bikes too for a seafront cycle to hidden coves. . Lots of great restaurants in the town and great beach bar too on local beach. As it was 38-40c some days fans would be useful in future maybe? That said it was a really great holiday and good for friendly Italian beaches.
The apartment was fantastic for a budget stay, a train ride away from Genoa centre. We are three friends who like to have separate rooms. They were all spacious and the beds were comfortable - we all slept relatively well despite the heat (it was in the mid to high thirties when we stayed). Fans were provided. Having two bathrooms was a bonus. The main bathroom was massive. The owners had left the best welcome pack I have ever had (and I have stayed in many places) and we could have got away without taking toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There were different coffees, milk, butter, yoghurts and pasta in the fridge and lots of different breads. The apartment is on the 5th floor, but there is a lift. There is traffic noise, but I live in the country and it didn't bother me past the first night (thought there seems to be a lot of sirens). The train station is under 5 minutes walk and we could get a 24 hour pass for 4 people, for 9 euros. This took us all around Genoa, to the nearby beaches of Nervi, Quinto, Quarto, Bocadasse and Voltri, on buses and trains. It also included the funicular. We had days out in Cinque Terre, San Margherita and Portofino, which were all wonderful. All trips were easy by train and very cheap compared to British prices. It is an easy train ride into Genoa from the apartment. It takes 10-15 minutes, but that's because the train is not quick. Buses come back until around midnight, though they can be busy.
We appreciated the wifi at the apartment. I think this is a great budget place to stay and was a far cheaper option than hotels, with the added flexibility of preparing our own meals and having the room to chill out etc. If I return to Genoa, I will stay here again.
