Lovely apartment in quiet location

4 of 5
The inside of the apartment is beautiful just as the photos. The kitchen is well equipped, the only thing we missed was a kettle - we Brits like our cups of tea! Having a washing machine was great. There is one air conditioning unit in the corridor near the entrance and if the bedrooms doors are left open this is just enough to keep cool during the night. There is a large outdoor terrace overlooking the bay (no photo on here so a nice surprise). This gets full sun in the morning and was a wonderful place to relax or eat meals, day or evening. There is a terrace at the back of the apartment also which we didn't use because the large one was so good. The location is excellent - the last building on the road before the walk way down to the beach at Mezzaforno. The road itself gets very busy, especially at the weekend with cars trying to park for the beach. On a couple of occasions cars were parked so close to the gate to the apartments that we were unable to get our car in or out, however most of the time is was OK. The beach itself is lovely, small but not too small. There are sun loungers, some for guests staying at the Hapimag Resort and some for Hotel Capitano. The rest of the beach is for public use. The beach bar, linked to the Hapimag Resort, is open to all. Food is served until 3pm and drinks until 7pm. After that time there is very little going on for people not staying at one of the hotels or campsites. We ate out most evenings in Cefalu and the surrounding area. Having a car is essential. Overall we have a lovely relaxing holiday.

Wonderful home in wonderful part of Sicily

5 of 5
We had a fantastic time staying in Caccamo. Our plane was delayed and we arrived late, so it was fantastic to arrive to find a feast of lovely cheese, meats, bread and wine. We also appreciated the tour of Caccamo the next morning and to be shown the best butcher and bread shop and restaurants. Caccamo is a small town; very Italian and very friendly. Palermo was great; we took the train from Termini as recommended by Anne and Doug which worked well. Dolce and Gabbana were staging their autumn show which added to the day. Another day we went to Segesta to see the temple and amphitheatre as we were taking one of our sons to the airport. Relaxing at the house was easy as it is very well equipped and really comfortable. The pool is lovely and you can choose sun or shade. We had not visited Sicily before and will definitely go again. Anne and Doug's lovely home is definitely a wonderful place to stay .
