A fantastic stay

5 of 5
Our overall experience was incredibly positive. This is a lovely tranquil place with excellent facilities and a fantastic outdoor space. The pool is lovely and our kids loved playing in the extensive grounds (although watch out for the prickly cactus plants at the back of the property!) The BBQ and pizza oven are superb! We cooked some great feasts on here and ready-made pizza dough is sold in every supermarket, in case you’re not Jamie Oliver. We enjoyed many warm nights, sitting at one of the two outdoor dining areas with ambient light from candles and the excellent exterior lighting throughout the grounds. Lovely surroundings, good food, wine, beer, family and Spotify! Perfecto! The kitchen is small and the main bathroom a bit dated, but these should not impact the quality of your stay. It didn’t affect us that is for sure. A holiday to Puglia in the countryside should be all about the outdoor experience anyway, which is excellent. The agents are friendly and responded to our every need quickly and without fuss. Jerry, an English chap who looks after the pool, is also a top bloke and has some great tips on what to do in the local area if you happen to meet him. One such tip was a lovely Italian restaurant in San Vito. A second floor restaurant overlooking the cathedral. It is a lovely place with a friendly owner, who speaks good English, and excellent food. Local beaches take 20 minutes to drive to and there are many to choose from. We liked Pantangiani but there are loads. Sunbeds and umbrellas cost around £25 Euros per couple but there are free public areas on most beaches and lots of exclusively public beaches too. Check Google Maps (satellite) for a sandy one if you don’t like pebbles. The local waterpark near Manopoli is worth a look (Egnazia), and there is a nice little park in the centre of San Vito (near where the local market sets up) if you have little ones. There is an excellent shopping mall with a huge supermarket 15 minutes away near Mesagne (search for Auchan). But if you want food supplies, the excellent Famillia on the edge of San Vito is a great place to go. And for quick, everyday stuff, Lidl is five minutes’ drive from the villa. All in all – everything you could want is in easy reach. We also visited some beautiful towns. Ostuni (30-40 mins drive) and Alberobello (1 hour) you must see. Polignano a Mare is also stunning and is just over an hour away too. But there are so many more, we will be back.

We have had a fantastic stay in this property, conveniently located away from the town centre, very quiet and equipped with all the mod cons.
