Beautiful, comfortable, relaxing, and Italian countryside

5 of 5
What a beautiful home full of comfort and authenticity. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Villa Caprile. The property, the house, the pool, all the accommodations met or exceeded our expectations. Our children teenagers and younger felt so at home, and we all enjoyed our stay. It was so wonderful to have this home to return to after short or long day trips to some of the most amazing places and towns that are all around. The location could not have been more perfect for the trip we planned. Thank you Dianne and Antonella and all the caretakers of the property for all your care and recommendations.

After a month of researching different places for our Italian family vacation from Canada, we decided on this one in the hopes that the photos and descriptions were accurate. The moment we pulled into Olive Wood, we knew the property far exceeded our expectations. The grounds and the house were amazing and Claudia and her husband were excellent to deal with, making the experience even more lovely. As a family of four we wondered if the house would be large enough but we didn't even use the one wing that was set up to be used as its own apartment. This property is set in a tiny village of about 30, so if you're looking for nightlife, it wouldn't be ideal for you, but the quiet location was great for a relaxing week. We spent our days lounging by the pool overlooking a beautiful valley and our evenings in the loggia cooking food from local markets and butcher Aldo. We took a tour of the vineyard Pie di Colle, just a kilometre or two away, and Il Palle, the olive oil producer just down the street, and brought some of their goods home. The Pizza at nearby Blu Notte was the best we had in all of Italy, and the sparkling wine by the litre was great too! At least once a day my wife and I would look at each other and say, "can you believe how beautiful this place is?" and our children, ages 8 and 12 say it was the favourite part of our vacation, which also included Rome and Venice. My only complaint is that Olive Wood may have set unrealistic expectations for future vacations! Several friends who saw our photos asked for the listing information and we certainly hope to be back someday!
