Lovely apartment, beautiful city, great landlord!

5 of 5
We are a retired English couple and we booked Casa Alice for a month in January but it was so good we ended up staying for 3 months! Our landlord Gianni impressed us from the beginning by replying to our enquiries promptly. On our arrival he met us and made us very welcome, explaining the facilities and also the places he recommended us to see in the city and the surrounding area. The private parking place was a definite advantage as parking can be very difficult at times in Lecce. The apartment is very well located; close by there is a great bakery, a fresh pasta shop, supermarket, roast chicken takeaway, fruit and vegetable shop, coffee shops and a market in the local piazza on a Sunday morning - all within a few minutes walk. Also within a few minutes is Piazza Mazzini, where the local people meet for their passiegata on a Sunday evening and where you can browse the many smart clothes shops. To cap it all the historic centre of Lecce, with its many fine Baroque churches, is only 10 minutes walk away. By car it is easy to access lots of interesting places around - Porto Cesareo, Gallipoli and Otranto to name a few, and lovely sandy beaches. Thanks to Gianni we were able to take full advantage of our stay and enjoy the many wonderful sights of Puglia to the full. We would recommend Casa Alice to anyone!
