A very relaxing sunshine break in mid-September at Villa Allesandra

5 of 5
My wife and I had an extremely pleasant and relaxing break in the Sardinian sunshine of mid-September at the Villa Allesandra in the village of Taunanella, Budoni. It is about a 30 minute drive from Olbia airport and is relatively easy to find (Homeaway provided detailed driving instructions) although at the end of our journey, it took a few minutes to realise that having turned into Via degli Argonauti, you come to a junction where you turn left for about 15 metres and then Via degli Argonauti continues on the right. Having turned right, about 10 metres on the left, you will see the gate of the little community of properties in which the villa is situated. We eventually arrived at about 8 pm and as instructed we phoned the housekeeper who opened the gate and showed us to our property. (Note that the housekeeper only speaks Italian so it helps to speak a little Italian). The villa was clean, spacious and well-appointed and the swimming pool was just great (it is big enough to swim in rather than just paddle about !). There is a shaded area on the terrace and a large table so you can eat outside if you wish. There are two small supermarkets within 5 minutes walking distance and we recommend the fresh fruit and vegetables both sell. There is also a very good restaurant within 10 minutes walking distance which we recommend. You can walk to the beaches to the North East although it helped to have Google Maps on my phone ! (By the way, there is excellent 3G/4G Mobile service in the area and good and reliable WiFi in the villa). We spent one day touring and the roads were very quiet (certainly compared to the UK) so this made driving a very pleasant experience. Sardinia has some spectacular scenery so we would advise at least one day touring. Massimo (who speaks English) was extremely helpful with all our queries both beforehand and while we were there and he clearly takes care to ensure his clients have as good a holiday as possible. In summary, if you are looking for a relaxing break with your own private swimming pool in a quiet area, we would definitely recommend the Villa Allesandra.

Good location in La Caletta

4 of 5
18-25 June 2016. The weather was lovely and the apartment was very comfortable with a good location and easy access to the beach, shops and restaurants of La Caletta. The nearest supermarket is literally 1-2 min walk away Apartment has Free Wi-Fi and has a well equipped kitchen. Property was clean and well maintained We particularly enjoyed the terrace which was ideal for drinks in the evening. There is easy parking and the owners Mario and Marianne were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We particularly liked being able to walk into town , and if you like a long walks also possible to walk to S. Giovani and Santa Lucia along the fantastic sandy beach. Ian and Helen
