Along with several other towns and villages, Grottaferrata makes up the Castelli Romani – a group of comunes known for their beautiful rural locations near the lakes of Nemi and Albano. Grottaferrata is revered for its 11th century abbey, excellent restaurants and high-quality accommodation.

The Castelli Romani is well-known for its cuisine, and Grottaferrata has a number of restaurants where you can sample the local fare. This can all be washed down with a glass of two of the excellent local wine. A typical meal will consist of a starter, a pasta dish, a main meal, dessert and coffee, and you can expect to pay considerably less in Grottaferrata than you would do in an eatery in the centre of Rome.

Wonderful accomodation in a very nice Golf Resort

5 of 5
The "Villino La Voliera" accomodation is a nice as the inviting pictures have shown before joining. Same with the surrounding location a very well maintained Golf Resort. A calm and wonderful place with a view over the skyline of Rome up the coast of mediteranean sea. The landlords take care of their guest in truly gentle manor. Visiting Rome city center or other places like Ostea Antica at the seaside takes 30-60 minutes by car or train depending of daytime and rush hour. For sure I would recommend this nice place my family and friends.

Great stay!

4 of 5
Myself and three others stayed at this property for the weekend from Friday until Monday, It was an absolute pleasure and the location of the apartment was within easy walking distance of the train station. The fare into Rome Central was incredibly inexpensive and we all had an absolutely incredible time. Luciano was great with communication before and during and met us on our departure without problem, even though it was my mistake of confusion for our flight times he still arrived early in the morning to see us off and ordered us a taxi to the airport. The only downside to the entire stay was the neighbours on our first night were rather loud and the walls are quite thin, that we could hear their television at 11 pm at night. But it only happened the once and we didn't have any other issues the rest of the time we stayed. My only regret was not leaving a little gift to thank our hosts for the wonderful stay.

Unbelievable Place for a Family Reunion!

5 of 5
We had our family reunion with 18 us staying at the villa. It was an amazing vacation. The groundskeeper, Michele, was really so helpful. He kept making sure we were satisfied with everything and checking if he could do anything for us. We loved the location, the peacefulness, how well equipped it was and the pool was wonderful to swim in after a long day in Rome. There were some delightful towns close by to explore with great grocery stores and excellent restaurants. The trip into Rome was easy and quick. We would highly recommend this place to anyone!
