lovely large airy apartment with views over the port. lots of space and furnished with style

5 of 5
a 20 minute walk to one of the main squares in Genoa (Ferrari) and a carrefour express at the top of the street . The apartment has excellent air conditioning throughout which was perfect during our stay with outside temperatures at 35 degrees plus. Very quiet block and great wifi and sound system / tv. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals - large American style fridge freezer and large dining table. Bathrooms well appointed.

Volare

4 of 5
We were lucky to have found this beautiful apartment in the old part of the city. It is as described in previous reviews. On our first afternoon we walked out and found that we were very close to main attractions , the Acquario Di Genova, Palazzo Ducale with interesting exhibitions and the city gates to name only a few. The apartment is very close to the Metro . Catching a train at Principe train station it was easy for us to explore Portofino, the remote villages of the Cinqe Terre and beyond Liguria, Milan. After each day’s exploring we were happy to return to this beautiful apartment . It was a pleasure to relax in the sitting room. The huge windows and high painted ceiling, handsomely faded now, lend a light and airy feel to a beautiful space. Church bells ring from St Peter’s a short distance away, just behind the piazza. Their sound remind me that we are staying for a short time in a place where people are living and working out their real lives. Local craftspeople, artists, and traders give life to the area as they have been doing for hundreds of years . I found the best homemade pasta in a small shop down a narrow street not far for the apartment and a pescheria with the freshest clams one afternoon and made an unforgettable spaghetti con vongole . What was lovely was that I met people who live in this neighbourhood as I was buying the ingredients to make this wonderful dish. We had a great time and dream of visiting again (if you would have us back of course), there is so much more to explore. Thank you Stefania for your hospitality.
