Gardone Riviera is a great base to explore the area around Lake Garda and enjoy various water activities such as swimming, water skiing, motor boating, sailing and diving. This is also a great place to see by hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. Lake Garda is also popular with anglers too with over 30 species of fish found here. Holidaymakers can also relax by the lakeside with a number of beaches not far from Gardone Riviera. There are many excellent golf courses along Lake Garda including Golf Bogliaco, which is only about 15 minutes away. Gardone Riviera and the surrounding area have many good restaurants, pizzerias, bars and cafes serving fine Italian fare. Self catering holidaymakers will be able to purchase food and beverages from shops and markets here too.

Gardone Riviera is a fabulous place close to many interesting attractions and is on the principal ferry routes taking tourists to other Lake Garda resorts. For example there is the unusual home of the eccentric poet Gabriele D’Annunzio and the wonderful botanic Heller Garden. Families can enjoy a fun day out at Gardaland, which is one of Italy’s biggest theme parks. The city of Monza is less than an hour away and is famous for its Romanesque-Gothic Duomo of Saint John as well its motor racing track, which stages Formula One racing each year. There are several churches dating back hundreds of years in the city as well. The city of Milan is just an hour and three quarters away and is well worth visiting for its fantastic buildings, museums and shops.

Temperatures normally stay in the 20 degree centigrade area between May and September. October is usually the wettest month of the year with an average of 110 mm rainfall.

Orio al Serio Airport (BGY) near Bergamo is approximately an hour and 10 minutes drive from Gardone Riviera. Ryanair offers low cost flights to and from domestic and major European airports such as Berlin-Schonefeld (SXF), Brussels-Charleroi (CRL), Dublin (DUB), Liverpool (LPL), London-Stansted (STN) and Madrid (MAD). Alternatively Verona Airport (VRN) is also about one hour and 10 minutes away and has flights to and from Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin-Tegel (TXL), Brussels-Charleroi (CRL), London-Gatwick (LGW), London-Stansted (STN), Madrid (MAD) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) amongst others. There are car rental companies located at both airports.

    Wir verbrachten September 2014 sehr schöne Tage in diesem liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichteten Appartement. Für zwei Personen absolut perfekt. Durch den sonnigen Spätsommer konnten wir die Terrasse zum 2. Wohnzimmer machen. Von dort hatten wir einen schönen Blick auf den Gardasee. Das Appartement liegt ruhig in einer 300 Seelengemeinde, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es keine, für uns war das kein Problem. Unsere Kontaktperson Laura kennen wir schon von anderen Urlauben, Sie ist eine Perle, Sie klärt alles unkompliziert und schnell. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Jutta & Thomas
