  • Beautiful, relaxing home in the hills
    5 of 5

This is a fabulous home! We were a group of 8 family and friends staying here for the week. The house has been beautifully restored and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and the host kindly left us bread, cheese and wine for our arrival! Sarah and Caroline were wonderful about communicating with us and answering all our questions. There is a great caretaker who came by to check on us and fix whatever was needed. The pool is gorgeous and we truly enjoyed the relaxing summer days sitting around it and in it. The views of the surrounding countryside are magnificent. There are lovely vineyards close by and wonderful restaurants in San Severino. The town also has a well stocked CO-OP for grocery shopping. We ventured out to Florence and San Marino from here and the trips were relatively easy. The beaches on the Adriatic are easy to get to as well. I would highly recommend this host and property to anyone who wants a relaxing, countryside retreat with local fun available. The Le Marche area is stunning and welcoming.

  • Italy Marche A hidden and peaceful place
    4 of 5

Really -This place is peaceful and embeded in a prestine surrounding of the italian nature of the Marche The owner have tastliy renovated the old farmhouse and managed to maintain the original style. We were very happy to have found such a house for 5 of us with everything you need to enjoy a "simple" life for 2 weeks. The well equipped kitchen for cooking sessions, a porch to eat outside in the shade, a semi-open room to sleep outside in warm nights (in our case only used for our morning Yoga with a great view into the valley). You may stay the whole day reading, sun bathing or playing table tennis near the house, while the kids may take care of the dog for a walk, brush the horse or feed the funny chicken or cats. Nearby you will find great local food (Agro Tourismo) of the Marche or nice restaurants. In any case you will need a car. There is no traffic at all, so you may enjoy cycling, but is will be tough and more for the early birds in summer time. For hiking or swimming you may enter the nearby National Park (Monti Sibillini) with impressing nature and a wonderful close moutain lake (trout fishing before 1.5. or after 15.9.). Camerino, Tolentino, Matelica, San Severino.. all these villages offer festivals, markets and pittoresques views (bring your water colors...). You may also visit Assisi (Umbria) or to go for a swim to the Adria coast (chalk cliffs south of Ancona or sand beaches - but drive will be min. 1 hours +). Kirsty and John live next door and are very quiet and reluctant. They will help you at anytime and give you great suggestions - depending on weather and saison. Summarizing, the nice house is great for a couple as well as for a family up to 5 persons, who like to enjoy life in a peacefull surrounding. A great place, even after having seen so many places in Italy, the experience of a pure Marche - simple, unspoiled and true with very kind locals and great hosts is unforgetable. Finally we loped and returned home - revitalized after this stay.
