Absolutely stunning, luxurious, peaceful villa

4 of 5
We LOVED the villa, we had the good fortune to meet Anthony and have him around for a few days so he was available with answers to all our questions! He is a wonderful host, extremely helpful but unobtrusive. The villa is blissfully peaceful with the most stunning views. The pool is the perfect size, depth and temperature. The villa was really well equipped - nothing missing, there was even a second fridge for all the beer and wine! There is AC in the living room and one of the bedrooms but we only used it in the living room (even though there was a 40 degree heatwave while we were there). We have only one slightly negative comment which is that the third bedroom (with the en-suite) is completely separate from the villa. This was fine for us as we were with our 2 kids (7 & 11) and our sister and brother in law who took the 'outside' room. It was also extremely hot in their room which wasn't ideal in the heatwave! But within 24 hours Anthony produced an additional fan! You do need a car which was fine for us as we love to be off the beaten track and the local shops/restaurants are within a five minute drive. You don't get such tranquility without being a bit more inaccessible! Anthony recommended some places for us to go and we did go out and about (as we were with kids) but if you want to just chill for a week it's perfect for that too. We were there for two weeks and honestly could have moved in for six months!

Gorgeous house in lovely Puglia

5 of 5
My husband, adult daughter, teenage son and I had a wonderful break at Kathleen's villa. There was so much space and the house was amongst the best equipped we have ever rented. The kitchen was well stocked and there was everything we needed to cook and eat. The beds were comfortable and bed linens good quality. All was spotlessly clean on arrival and we were met with the keys, as promised. The outdoor space and pool were lovely and there were several different areas to sit and relax with a meal or a drink. The village of Selva is very leafy and it was nice to walk around and look at all the beautiful homes, including some trulli. We also walked to the nearby pizzeria, the local fine dining restaurant (Il Fagiano) for Sunday lunch, and the village butcher's evening barbecue. We all loved Puglia a lot. It was the least 'touristy' part of Italy we have visited so far. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with the characteristic fields of olive trees and trulli. We visited some amazing places including Matera and Lecce, plus lovely coastal towns (Monopoli was a favourite), the white city of Ostuni, and Alberobello. Kathleen was a fantastic, accommodating and generous host who made sure we were happy with everything at all stages of the rental, and provided lots of information and tips to enhance our holiday. Her local representative, Evelina, was also very helpful and charming. We would love to return to Puglia, and would have no hesitation in booking this property again.
