I'm in two minds about writing a good review as it means others will find this property or the prices may go up. The communication with the owners was fantastic. Even with conversing in a different language it was speedy. I had some initial concerns based on a previous review. Having spoken to the owners it was obvious that the property wasn't quite refurbished two years ago, but is now. I'll start with some of the not so positive points (and it is not really the property at fault). The road to the property can be a challenge. On our first day the family had to get out of the car and walk the last bit to lighten the load. The car was a decent estate so wouldn't normally have struggled. Imagine a rally stage with loose gravel, uphill with ruts! The other thing to take note of is the wildlife. You are in an agricultural area and that brings wildlife. There are quite a lot of flies, wasps, hornets and other general things that like to sting and bite. We even had a scorpion in the house which had to be caught and tossed into a field. The owners have some fly traps around the garden and they do a certain amount to catch some of the insects. A possibility of a couple of fans in the house might help on a night time. The house itself is beautiful. You can really see the craftsmanship, love and attention that has gone into producing a bespoke finish in the kitchen and bathrooms. It was spotless clean when we arrived. There is a lot of glass to clean. Some other nice touches are a smart tv, reasonable internet in parts of the house, a music system wired into the house with Blue tooth and a pool cleaning robot. The dining/sitting room downstairs is nice and cool due to the stone floors and the double opening glide door systems. The main focus of the property is the pool. An infinity pool looking down the valley and into the sea in the distance. Ideal property for kids. Lots of land for them to play around in. Enough shops locally (about 8km) to last a few weeks easily without needing bigger stores. You will definitely need a car for this property and it would be difficult to access if you had some mobility difficulties. We never go back to the same place twice as the world is a big place to explore. We would however consider going back to this place. we were sad to leave

  • Wonderful Holiday

We had a great stay in San Donnino last week. The pictures on the website do not do the villa justice, it is far more beautiful in real life. The house was picturesque and the outside area perfect to relax in. Claudia gave us some good recommendations and was always available to answer our questions. The local area is untouched by tourists, and we had an authentic Italian trip. There were some lovely towns close by that we enjoyed visiting, Arcevia is a traditional town and La Botega di Memories is a brilliant wine bar/restaurant in Sasseferato that you should not miss. A couple of recommendations would be some more fans for the bedrooms as it got very hot during the night, also some cushions for the sun loungers. Thanks again Claudia for a fantastic holiday. We will be back next year! Elouise & friends
