  • Lovely spacious villa, well equipped and comfortable with a large private garden and pool.

We got a warm welcome from the owners Rossella and Edo and their little son, keen to show us the excellent swimming pool that was to be a main focus of our month long stay in Bisceglie. The villa itself is large, set on 2 levels, ground floor and basement, each level with it's own fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, and can be completely seperate units if you want as each floor has its own locked entrance. We had friends and family to stay at different times during the month so we could spread out and have our own space. There's air conditioning in one of the ground floor bedrooms (which my husband and I requisitioned!), and in the ground floor sitting room. It can get hot in the other ground floor bedrooms but all the windows and doors have effective mosquito nets so ok with windows open. The basement rooms were nice and cool day and night so didn't need any air conditioning. The villa was clean and smart with newly fitted bathrooms, but felt homely and rekaxing. White seat cushions though- best to cover them if you have children! (I spent an afternoon washing chocolate out of one). The villa is well located for the seaside, bars and restaurants, supermarkets within a 15 minute walk and the charming old town of Bisceglie with its Romanesque cathedral, narrow, winding alleyways leading to the little fishing harbour, shops and piazza del pesche market all within 25-30 minute walk (if you like walking and if you don't, there's plenty of parking). I found it's not that easy to get a substantial villa with a large garden shaded by old olive and pine trees a good size swimming pool that can easily take 6-8 people,as most are in the countryside, and you have to rely on a car to get anywhere. This one was ideally placed for our needs. Set in a largely residential area with plenty of open space, it felt safe in a gated complex but in its own grounds so quite private. Rossella also runs a cookery school and for a fixed price she and a chef will come and show you how to cook a typical Pugliese meal. This is then served up in style to your table with suitable wines and all cleared up for you at the end. We spent a fun evening learning to make cozze pepate and riso patate e cozze and a barbequed meat dish, with plenty left for the next day. The owners were always very helpful and made sure we had an excellent and peaceful stay. The only stress we had was which bin to put each item of recycling in their rather complex colour coded system!😊😎

We have spent a beautiful time in this place, however we have been disappointed by the owner behaviour. Indeed, you should know that the owner of this property is also owning the Tour next to the villa. One day he came inside the house to blame our children who were spending few water on people coming to the beach. We are talking about 1 liter water during 5mn...he was shouting at the kids, warning that he will call the police. We were absent my husband and I since we were on the beach. We were really surprised that this man came inside during our holiday rental period and threaten our kids. Our correspondant from HelloPuglia told us that he is a well known person in the region of Puglia. Well known people or not, it is not normal. The place would be perfect if Big Brother was not watching at you. Regards Virginie and Stéphane
