Make a holiday apartment in Civitanova-Marche your home away from home

Civitanova-Marche is a fishing town and seaside resort on the Adriatic coast at the mouth of the Chienti River. There are long stretches of white, sandy beaches and a medieval town four kilometres inland that provides superb views for miles around. This ancient settlement is still partially surrounded by its old walls that enclose an area noted for its old palaces and churches.

Offering the best of both worlds, with proximity to beaches and historic treasures, HomeAway has a number of attractive holiday apartments in Civitanova-Marche. These comfortable retreats feature fridges, thoughtful features and washing machines, and some have Wi-Fi. Civitanova-Marche holiday villas benefit from large rooms and grounds, private gardens and swimming pools. They enjoy rural settings and are within minutes of local beaches. A few of the villas can sleep upwards of eight people, perfectly suited for large families or groups of friends. With prices that start from just £42 per night they offer great value for money, priced slightly less than other holiday rentals in the Marche region such as those at Macerata.

Things to do

-Historic buildings: The old town sits on top of a hill and many of its 14th-century defensive walls and ramparts are in a good state of preservation. Around the main Piazza della Libertà there are several old and noteworthy buildings including the 18th-century church San Paolo and the 16th-century Palazzo Cesarini.

-Beaches: There are good stretches of beach with clear waters all around Civitanova-Marche. They are split into two parts by the presence of the harbour. To the north, the coast features wide beaches with shallow water, ideal for young families. To the south of the town, the wide beach is bordered by an attractive promenade and the sea is deeper.

-Culture: Since its opening in 1872 The Teatro Annibal Caro in the heart of Civitanova-Marche has been one of the city’s most popular cultural hubs. It presents a rich diversity of plays, musicals and performances throughout the year. These include ballets, operas and dance productions.

-Food: Visitors who stay in holiday apartments in Civitanova-Marche will discover that seafood dishes dominate in the town’s restaurants with an abundance of pilchards, mackerels and anchovies. Traditional dishes on offer include furbi con l’abbiti (octopus with chards), fish soup and mackerel in red wine.

Weather in Civitanova-Marche

Summers in Civitanova-Marche are hot and dry when temperatures in July and August can reach 28°C. The spring is mild and can attract some rain. January and February are the coldest months where the temperature can drop to 2°C, although this can feel colder with the fresh winds coming off the Adriatic Sea.

The closest major airport to Civitanova-Marche is Falconara Airport in Ancona, 60 kilometres from the town. Civitanova-Marche has its own railway station and there are good road connections to other places along the Adriatic Coast and to the rest of Italy. Hiring a car is the most popular way to get around for visitors with Civitanova-Marche holiday villas.

Casa Naomi 2017

5 of 5
Casa Naomi is a delight. Everything works and continued to work throughout our stay. What a delight to stay in such a beautifully restored, spacious, spotlessly clean and well maintained property. Quiet, yet not too far off the beaten track. The only disturbances were from a noisy set of residents with their choruses of bird song all day long. We saw a metre long reptile - snake or slow worm? No sign of the whoopoe but we heard a lot from him. Lizards abounded to the delight of our young charges. So tranquil. Our busy lives a distant memory. Meals on the patio, all of them, were such relaxing occasions. The bread shop is one of the best. The butcher quite a wit and with such good meat. Such variety and such high quality. We loved the village and the friendliness of the locals. Barbecuing was a joy. The local beaches are pristine, accessible, within easy reach of Casa Naomi, and the sea very warm. The house pool one of the best we have seen in our travels with a most efficient filter. We made maximum use of the pool, the boys had a great time and how their swimming confidence has improved. TV, iPad, not missed at all. We did not feel the urge to travel much during our stay and I believe that is a sign of being content. We, of three generations, highly rate this property and intend to return.
