  • Getaway from it all break.

This property is spacious , airy and very well equipped. The owners are very friendly ,but unobtrusive despite being in adjoining property. This really is in a beautiful spot away from it all. If you want a holiday that is not noise and nightclubs and fellow tourists this is for you. It is quite rural and is surrounded by farmland . The village of Martis is only a short drive away , with local supermarket and a few cafes. Beaches are a fair drive away, and this is not a property to stay at , if you don’t hire a car. We found it quiet and tranquil. In retrospect a little too off the beaten track for us. This is not to say we didn’t enjoy the holiday. Chris and Jill were very welcoming, leaving little treats for us from the orchard. And a welcome pack to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary! A visitors book may be useful , so that fellow guests can recommend which restaurants, beaches and places of interest are worth visiting. Other than that we had a lovely time. Thank you Chris and Jill.

  • Perfect rustic charm

What a perfect week we had at Villa Nuraghe. Don't expect comfortable luxury but what you do get is rustic charm, peaceful isolation and excellent facilities with everything you need in the home. Malcolm has tastefully and lovingly restored the 2 villas and equipped them to a high standard. Having 2 individual buildings, both with 2 ensuite rooms, set metres apart at right angles to each other offers the perfect holiday home for a multi generational family like ours, or for 2 families. We spent leisurely mornings on the terrace, around the pool and enjoying the badminton net and the grounds before heading out to various locations in the afternoons. We never drove for more than 40 minutes but found quaint harbours, long sandy beaches, more intimate coves and castles to explore. Even in the height of the season (July) the roads were quiet and villages seemed deserted, beaches varied from busy to almost empty. The shops in Perfugas are more than adequate and the wine coop recommended by Malcolm was excellent. The bottles waiting for us on our arrival gave us the opportunity to taste before we bought. Malcolm really was the perfect host. He gave us a comprehensive tour when we arrived and cleaned the pool mid week. Apart from this he wouldn't have troubled us, but we needed a Dr! He not only came round to give us contact details but also brought medication to try to help. Seeing the Dr was every bit as easy as he'd predicted (but do make sure you bring EHIC cards). We invited Malcolm to join us for a drink and spent a happy couple of hours chatting and finding out more about the area. There were only 2 things we felt might have improved the villa: cushions for the sun loungers and a better wifi connection. Malcolm tells us he is already looking into providing the cushions which will make a difference. The wifi is acceptable but weak but it meant we chatted to each other instead of the youngsters constantly being online, a hidden bonus. I believe stronger Internet is available in local bars. Despite this I still rate Nuraghe as a perfect place to spend a happy holiday and we only wish we'd been there longer. Thank you, Malcolm.
