Toller Strand, schöne Unterkunft, herrliche Landschaft zum wandern, biken usw. Mehr gibt es eigentlich nicht zu sagen. Ein Geschirrspüler hätte das Glück perfekt gemacht. Gesamtfazit: klare Empfehlung!
We are a family of 4 and we come to Sardinia regularly for our summer breaks. This time we decided to stay at this beautiful villa in Costa Rei which we visited during our previous trips.
The house has sea view, although it is quite far out from the shore. There is ample parking for 2-3 cars, but you're not allowed to park by the house, but in a designated area. The villa has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom with walk-in showers. There is also a shower outdoors, so you can enjoy the view and the weather after a beach day. Beaches are 5 min away by car. The house is of a good size, a bit dark inside though, but it's due to it's traditional style.
There is a washing machine, and you can use, so it's really handy if you're staying for longer than a week.
The rooms are nicely decorated, simple and smart, although we found the lighting really dark, especially in the toilets.
It's not the traditionally purpose-built dwelling for rent purposes, but rather a family home used for tourist whilst the owners are away. Maria, one of the acting owners, also lives on the land premises, so she is available for emergencies, and pops in regularly to check if all is ok. Also, prepare to speak Italian only, as no English is spoken.
Outside, there is a large terrace/veranda with a large 8-people dining table, overlooking the sea. The area is really quiet, too.
You will need to bring all the necessary accessories with you, including soap, washing up liquid, shower gels, shampoos, waste/bin bags, etc, as they are not provided. Nearest store is at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to Costa Rei, but larger shopping, you will need to visit Villasimius, 15 minutes away by car. For food, there is a small pizzeria by the local supermarket, or visit Costa Rei for wider choice.
The reason why we're giving the house a 4* rating, is because it's missing a bbq, which is a must when in Sardinia. It's also the first time we've been to Sardinia and we could not do a bbq or grill.
There is nowhere to take a walk in the evenings, as the house is far out in the land with no real paths for walks by the sunset.
You will experience beautiful sunrises, but won't be able to see the sunsets due to it's location.
Lastly, normally when renting villas in Sardinia we are welcomed with a cake and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift when we check in, which was not the case this time round.
Overall, we believe 4* is a fair score for this villa.
