The village is old, peaceful and traditional, providing an excellent opportunity for visitors to experience true Italian village life, away from the bigger crowds found in the larger towns on the shores of the lake.

You will soon discover that such a small community it is easy to get chatting to the locals and practice your Italian. Amenities in Castello Cabiaglio are only basic, but there is something rewarding about buying fresh bread, meat and vegetables from small family businesses instead of the bigger supermarket chains found on the outskirts of the village.

The surrounding area is rich with natural attractions, and for lovers of the great outdoors this is one of the finest regions in the country. Hiking, walking, mountain biking and wildlife spotting are just some of the many activities on the agenda, and water-based activities can be found in abundance on beautiful Lake Maggiore, which is just a few short kilometres away.

Lovely house in a very nice enviroment

5 of 5
The house is very cozy, charming, spacious, well maintained, clean and tidy. It's surrounded by a beautiful garden with flowers, palm trees, fruit trees and large old trees . In the morning you can enjoy your breakfast on the covered terrace in, during the day you can relaxe in the sun or swimmingpool in the garden and in the evening you can enjoy your homemade pizza from a real pizza oven outside the house. The view of Lake Maggiore is magnificent. It's a very nice place for a fantastic holiday. Greetings, Lizzy (The Netherlands)

Good villa, good garden. Hard to get there by a big car. Far away from shops (15 minutes by car thought) and on foot walk with stroller is very hard- there is no pavements. The kitchen have many dishes but no microwave and no electric kettle. (I think nobody drinks tea in Italy, since we could not buy the kettle in the dedicated stores). Also what was lacking is cleaning materials, I used to have thought in all other apartments we were staying
