Wonderful wedding venue

5 of 5
When we arrived last September for our first visit to Villa Conti, we had come to Riardo to look for a pretty venue for our wedding reception. As Paulo was giving us his welcoming tour of the Villa and gardens, we quickly realised that this, right here, was exactly what we had envisioned!! Paulo and Eleonora very kindly agreed to let us host the reception at the Villa and helped us to realise our dream over the next few months. Their enthusiasm and thoughtfulness was endless and we’re happy to say that throughout the planning and execution of our celebrations, they have become very great friends. The garden, already beautiful, was transformed into something quite magical and oh so romantic – with flowers, billowing voiles and ribbons around the gazebo, candles and lanterns, wonderful food and great music. The ceremony led by the delightful Mayor at the Municipale was just as we’d hoped (thank you Paulo for interpreting!), the bars and the villagers were generous in their congratulations and thanks to Eleonora’s persistence and hard work we were able to enjoy a traditional, intimate, rustic yet very elegant wedding reception. We cannot thank them enough. We were able to relax and enjoy the rest of our stay, taking advantage of the new pool, newly decorated Villa and drinking yet more of Paulo’s wine (even better this year!). We will return (hopefully in November) as Paulo and Eleonora, Villa Conti and of course our family and friends in Riardo have a hold on us!!

Wonderful villa and owners

5 of 5
Just spent two womderful weeks at this clean and spacious villa with facilities to keep the whole family happy! The owners were so helpful with all of our plans and went above and beyond what I would expect. Very thoughtful people, kind and generous. Helped arrange trips and taxis/tours with the best of people. Very secure villa. Great location for travelling via train from Villa Liturno to Rome/Naples/Pompeii. Would love to return. Thank you for everything. :)

Lovely!

5 of 5
We have just returned from a fifteen day stay. This is a lovely little house. Clean, comfortable and adequately furnished. Brunella, Albino and Giovanni were most welcoming and responded promptly to any of our queries. Since we had a car hire, Giovanni took our main driver for a local driving lesson prior to picking up our car-hire. This was invaluable because as we found out, driving in Naples and the surrounding area requires nerves of steel. Forget the lane discipline of the U.K., in Naples cars blithely ignore the Highway Code, pushing and weaving in whatever direction needed to get to their destination in the quickest possible time! Not for the faint hearted! We found the location of the house to be quite central - a fairly short, if hair-raising drive to Naples, Pompeii, Ercolano, The Amalfi Coast (not recommended on a Sunday since city dwellers head for the coast on this day and they race around the tightest of bends, squeezing past each other with little more than a hairs breadth between them - quite insane). We would recommend that anyone who intends exploring Naples do as we did - drive to Villa Laterno which is the nearest train station and get the train into the city. His would also work for visiting Pompeii etc) One of the things I liked about this small town is the fact that it isn't a Tourist hotspot. The beach is a very short drive away. Brunella and Albino ensured we had sun loungers and an umbrella for the duration of our stay. We knew it wasn't a tourist hot spot because the minute we ventured through the gate to the beach one of the young attendants immediately showed us to the correct umbrella without us having introduced ourselves. I liked this area. It made me feel like I was experiencing the real Italy. People were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. We found a very nice Pizza restaurant/carry out place to the left if facing the main road. The owners had a good command of English which was good for us. Their pizzas were yum. The little eating place at the entrance to the road on which the house is situated serves the most diving chicken and roast potatoes cooked on the open fire. It's really worth trying. Another favourite of ours for some of the famous Napolitian ice cream was Jean's Cafe located in the main town area by the beach. A word of advice to anyone buying locally, very few shops accept any form of bankers cards though there is a cash machine in the vicinity of the beach. Would recommend
