  • Wonderful villa

We spent a very relaxing two weeks at this lovely villa with our two adult "children" who are in their early twenties, during the summer of 2012. The villa has been sympathetically and tastefully restored. This has resulted in a spacious yet cosy home with every modern convenience, whilst still retaining it's rural Umbrian origins. The bedrooms and bathrooms are stylish and luxurious, with super comfy beds, crisp white linen and excellent power showers. The kitchen is large and well equipped, the living area is cool, homely and comfortable. Outside there are several different areas in which to sit or lie and relax, be it in sun or shade, whilst taking in the wonderful views or watching the swallows swooping and diving to the pool to drink! The pool is large and very clean, although the sunbathing area around the pool is limited. The area feels very private and peaceful. It is worth taking the short stroll to the walled hamlet above the villa for the spectacular views and sunsets. There are only residential houses up there, no shops or bars etc. The nearest small shop is about a 7 min drive, but is well stocked. The nearest supermarkets and mall about 15 - 20 min drive. This was fine for us except our offspring were unable to go out independently as they weren't insured to drive and they felt a little trapped. The villa is very well situated for visits to several ancient towns and cities, such as Spoleto and Assisi. Our favourite day trip was to the mountain town of Castellucio, famous for it's lentils and vast plains covered with wild flowers - breathtaking. If it is peace, tranquillity and a little luxury you are after on a holiday then I highly recommend this villa.
