  • Really enjoyed the house, wish I could have worked out the bread oven. Tried and failed.

It has everything you need although we bought a couple of items we wanted like a chopping board. Bedrooms and bathrooms were fine and the bbq area is fantastic. The bread and pizza oven beat me but was fun trying. We were bitten by local insects frequently but not sure where we were targeted. Didn't spoil anything at all. Sarah welcomed us and took time to show us around the house which was a nice touch. Take care to be economical with electricity as this is an additional charge. We paid 24 euros at the end of our 2 weeks. The local info could do with updating but we found our way to what we needed. Driving is an experience, hesitate and you lose is the rule I think. I could not work out priorities at junctions. Visit etna if you don't mind the drive. Guided walking tour to latest eruptions 2002 was exceptional. Tindari is wonderful and don't miss the roman town remains up there. Not well cared for but very interesting. We liked the beach at capo Di Orlando at ligthouse end for a quiet read. We also liked Brolo and kefalu is stunning. If you like a bit of an adventure try catafurlco waterfall. Bit of a hike but worth it. The lane had a bit of a fence blocking it but was only to keep animals out or in? Just undo and put back as you walk through. Don't drive your car too far along the lane! Over all a great 2 weeks. Recommended.

  • A beautiful Villa
    5 of 5

This villa is perfect for a large group. On the ground floor there is a shower room living and eating areas, and a kitchen, on the second floor are 3 more bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ,with a further bedroom and bathroom on the top floor. The view are amazing from all areas. There is a Large terrace at the top of the house, eating areas to one side, and a fantastic pool area to the other side, Also a large Table tennis table, for a bit of exercise from lying next to pool, gazing out onto the beautiful views of the sea and mountains. The villa is in an areas that means you do need a car.Put the coordinated into your sat nav, and you will find it easerley. There is a very large supermarket ten minutes away, and you are half way between both Palermo and Catania airports (2 hours in either direction). The owner is very helpful and friendly, and greeted us in the early hours of the morning, after our plane was late, without complaint. he was kind enough to leave some essential for us, for breakfast. There are some lovely beaches nearby and very beautiful coastal drives. The roads are empty of traffic, so do not be afraid to drive. Go to Tindari one evening and eat in the cliff top restaurant, and then go back in the hustle and bustle of the day, to visit the cathedral and Roman ruins. We loved this holiday so much, it was idyllic, we will definitely go back.. Thank you Marco xx.
