Make a holiday rental home or villa in the Benevento area, Italy your home away from home

The Benevento area is situated in the Campania region of southern Italy, and can be used as a base for visiting the famous city of Naples and its surrounding towns, or simply as a stand-alone destination in the heart of this rich and varied region. The area is largely rural, and the main draw of the region is its ‘back to basics’ feel, but more modern attractions and amenities can be found in the town of Benevento – which also has some stunning sites of historical and cultural interest.

Things to do in Benevento area, Italy

The town of Benevento is the capital of the province, and occupies the site of an ancient Roman settlement. Many pieces of evidence from this time remain within the town centre, the most notable of which is the impressive Arch of Trajan, which dates back to 114AD. Other remains from this era include the well-preserved Roman theatre and the remains of the Santi Quaranta emporium, and there are many other sites of historical interest elsewhere around the town.

On the outskirts of Benevento town are a number of other smaller towns and villages, the majority of which provide options for outdoor activities that make the most of the unspoilt scenery the Benevento area has to offer. Sant’Agata de’ Goti is one such destination, where you can enjoy an array of hiking, walking, cycling and horse riding options, before returning to your holiday rental farmhouse and enjoy a selection of the finest meats, cheeses and vegetables that the region has to offer – all of which can be purchased from traditional family businesses or a local food market.

Historical structures can also be found in abundance along Naples’ cobbled streets, but there are many more modern attractions on offer as well, and enjoying a hearty meal in the birthplace of the pizza should be a part of every visit to this fabulous city.

Such a beautiful place with hosts who go the extra mile!

5 of 5
Unfortunately we’re all getting back to normality again now but will have amazing memories of such a fantastic holiday. The villa is fantastic, swimming pool amazing and deep enough to dive into at the deep end. We have made fantastic new friends; Nicola and Samantha really do all they can to ensure you have a wonderful time. The pizza oven fired pizza evening was fantastic all with fresh produce grown at the property. If you’re happy exploring with a rental car then this villa is a fantastic base from which to visit Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and the Amalfi Coast. Also a great place to visit if you enjoy cycling, though a love of hill climbing is essential! In summary, simply amazing! Grazie mille Nicola e Samantha :-)

Lovely comfortable and relaxing haven

5 of 5
We stayed in early September- despite rather disappointing weather- we had a fabulous time. The house and pool are fantastic - with a great outdoor space- even when raining and easy access to shops etc Gina is just lovely - and Enzo so helpful with the pool. They made us fell really welcome but were not intrusive. Top tips would be: 1. if you like eating out someone will need to be able to drive in the group - it is some distance from restaurants 2. the satnav has difficulty with the roads - can be tricky and the signs for leMelaRosa are not always clear - but once you have found it - satnav finds it's way home! 3. easy access for both Pompeii and surroundings but also west of Naples exploration from here 4. kitchen is bijou - perfectly easy to rustle up great food with great ingredients 5. having two shower/bathrooms is fantastic luxury absolutely recommend this for couples or with small children for relaxation and wind-down.
